Congrats to you guys that got the car. I got to stage 10-5 and couldn't go any further. Ran that race 4 times trying to win without going off track and got frustrated. Then I ran out of time on the last day when real life cut my time short. No big deal as I had a blast and won a lot of gold in the process. Really hope they do more of those types of things. Would be nice if the time limit wasn't there so I could keep trying though.
Have to say RR3 redeemed itself with the Road to Le Mans. The idea was epic, and the execution was great. A whole week of new events, rewarding throughout, culminating with the gift in the form of the fastest car in the game! I won it without having to spend a dime, and I enjoyed doing it! Now the issue could arise though - what next? How to force ones with Porsche 919 to invest in new gold? Time for RR4?
I don't want a rr4 if the industry trends are any suggestion as to what would end up happening. No doubt it would be constant online required, they'd do this to stop the airplane mode manual clock folk who want to progress at their own pace. And every single car would have iap blended in with ingame currency upgrades like all the more recent cars have had.
Well, I am actually perfectly aware that EA have this idea of abandoning the continuity of Real Racing sequels. They will instead update RR 3 for as long as it keeps on bringing millions to them - it simply turns out as financially more economical approach. But I do have to wonder if they have unintentionally killed it off with this latest update. They basically gave away the fastest car available, effectively offering the ultimate experience of this game to everyone, for free. In other words, they gave everyone a free ride to the top of the mountain. Only way to top this would be an F1 car, but I can't see something like that being incorporated in a game in a meaningful way.
.. And while I am at it, here I might as well offer my idea of where RR3 should go in the future: Game gets the greatest update ever, and changes the name simply into Real Racing. The menus, presentation, soundtrack get a complete visual overhaul, and graphics are improved considerably. In terms of gameplay, we get off road races, variable weather conditions, the Nordschleife track, free ride mode, forza Vista- like feature, and test-polygon creator. Last but not least, In terms of monetarization, the game makes the greatest change - 100 gold for 1$, 1200 gold for 10$, etc. The result - absurd amounts of money start pouring on EA's account, and hundred million players worldwide are thoroughly satisfied with the game. Yeah, I know this idea is more like a complete fantasy, but one can always dream
Once you see the progression in that series and the PR requirement, It's not a free ride to get through.. And given the Toyota is 1000 gold and has a much higher top speed than the Porsche.... Completion is still IAP dependent.
My point was that a player is given the free chance to experience and own the best performing vehicle in the game, which basically means getting the very best the game has to offer. With that being the case, whether a game is completed or not becomes merely a technicality, and it does not take away from the core gameplay experience itself.
Totally agree. My thinking was that even though they gifted the 919, for it to be competitive it needs upgrading.. Which can get very expensive.
RR4 will come out, but I bet it's 3 to 4 years off yet. And did no one complete the RR3 survey EA posted recently? It asked questions like what did you hate, IAP, and what would you like to see like dynamic weather, F1 etc etc etc. If you want those added, fill in their survey's and tell them. I won't be surprised one bit to see F1 and maybe even rally racing in RR3. But I laugh how for me to now buy a Le Mans racer will basically now cost me £70 UK Sterling, that's significantly more than any standard edition Playstation 4 game costs, for one in game car. EA must be milking it like nothing else.
I lost all the upgrades to my 919 like some of you. I contacted them through the in game support and they sent me what looked like an automatic email that said they would look into it. Has anyone heard back from them about a fix?
For all who lost upgrades.. I just launched the game and got a message saying something along the lines of.. "the upgrades should have persisted, we are refunding you what you spent... "
I didn't repurchase the 919's upgrades though. I want to have the cash/iap saved up and on hand for those cars in that series when they hit discount. I bought two new cars and several upgrades throughout instead for the series area I'm working on atm.
Haven't got my refund yet. Hope they don't forget about me. I know I spent at least $1,000,000 on that thing.
