Apparently there's not even multiplayer like what RR2 has? the ghost mode thing is cool...but that's kinda lame.
I didnt say they werent. Im stating that goin Free to play doesnt protect you from piracy. BC people will just hack the IAP
It surprises me that people continue to think this is in any way an option. It isn't, because then not only the "hardcore" players would utilise it: everyone would. And to put it as simply as possible, EA (and others using this system) don't want your $20. They want you to keep paying indefinitely. If not you, then somebody else; but the only way to ensure anyone does, is to not give them another option. Look at Gameloft even going so far as to remove previous versions of Let's Golf to ensure this. It is an all out aggressive strategy, make no mistake. Apparently it also works. Bottom line: an alternative to freemium in a game trying to sell freemium will never, ever, ever happen. It would be a system that undermines itself.
There's been very little talk about the game itself... ...but doesn't surprise me. Consumable IAP systems aren't a good thing no matter how people paint it. This no one pays for anything is rubbish too, I've spent far more on software than I have my iPad, as a counter argument from my POV it seems to be pulled out of thin air.
If all these times are truly kept I'm surprised at the lack of leader boards. All these people I'm apparently racing but if I want to friend up and race I'm unable to. Viewing the track and its best times seems basic for a game as "connected" as this.
Not exactly. Those people will spend no money. It was made to exploit those who want to play more than once in a while, and drain as many whales as possible.
Okay, as the thread is being cleaned up to relevant stuff, this might get answered. Has nobody managed to get the cloud save to work? A downloading notice comes up when launched but the save doesn't actually download and it is logged in to gamecenter. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Yo, it's a discussion thread, and we're discussing. If you feel your voice isn't being heard, speak louder. You're already screaming with those caps on, so you're not too far off... Oh, and you think the guys over at EA said in their meetings, "we should make this really great game that everyone wants to play every now and again!", because that would be kinda weird. These guys have been in this business for a long time. I'm guessing that's not quite how it went down.
Chill out, I said from my POV, the statements that no one pays for games are fabricated. Nothing to take personally. The sweeping statement has been made a number of times, and in my case its unfounded. You've been at it too long I think, you were quite rational.
Okay, fair enough, sorry bout that. I may have a tendency to get slightly erratic about that particular issue.
You're fine, don't worry about it. There's been so much traffic here things are bound to get a bit mixed up.
So flaming aside, this game does look very nice on an iPad 4. Definitely give fire mint credit there. Game plays like real racing 2. Handles the same and all which is good. Only issue I have is, even if I had unlimited money and gold, it's a hassle to have to repair every little thing. Tedious, only more so if you actually do the waiting game. But that aside, the game itself is pretty cool, you can sort of think of it as an extension of real racing 2, with the added iap.
