They'll never release a premium version of this. Ever. They're making plenty of money on the model they have, despite the huge number of iap hackers.
If they released what could be considered a premium version, it would only lower their profits and that simply is not going to happen.

Anyway, the timers are not the problem with this one, they are perfectly manageable. The problem with it is the amount of gold you have to spend to be competitive in any of the online elements or to reach the required PR ratings for cars in order to complete a series.

Luckily I avoided the PR element for about 70% of it because of having it so long but now that I've hit them in the later series, I'm simply not going to progress any further without buying gold.

And therein lies the biggest problem. The massively overpriced gold.
I've actually bought iap for it in the past but I simply can't anymore because at a calculation, a rough calculation, I'd need a minimum of about $300 worth and the iap I did buy simply didn't make any kind of dent in it and turned out to be a very low value for money proposition. And I still have all the cars bar 7 of them. I just can't upgrade them any further or apply gold upgrades which are what's really needed to complete series and compete in the time trials or multiplayer. Not have any real chance of earning even part of the required gold from this point.
It's also unfortunate that the only ones benefitting from the higher rewards offered are for the most part iap hackers anyway.

I'd happily buy more iap if it came at a reasonable price, but no, at the moment it doesn't and as much as I'd like to, I'm not giving $300 more to the game either. Pity really.

I agree the game will stay this model and it's a shame this price model is encouraged by so many. I won't be one of them and if I can't play a game for whatever reason then I simply move on to something I can play, enjoy and don't feel like I'm being ripped off :)

I got to about level 65 but then A8 and GT:2 came out.

    So I stopped playing RR3.

Its a bit of a weird one for me on a personal level. I like the team behind it and the game a lot.

I'm not opposed to iap in general but I do need to see some form of value for money proposition.

I just can't see any value at all in the iap whatsoever considering its priced so high and the only packs worth buying to have any kind of effect or impact are either of the top two and I'm just not dropping that kind of money regularly no matter how good I think the game is.

I think I'm gonna go with Larni's solution.

This could have been a really big game for me, plays nice on my ipad air, instead it is just a bit part game and I'm afraid EA, that's how it is going to stay

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I absolutely hate the timers and having to have great caution on how you spend your gold or else you won't be able to get 100% completion; but I love the cars, the feel, the graphics, the sounds, the traction, and the maps which makes me come back to this game everyday. I dowloaded this game the day it came out and I still haven't spent a penny. I still, however, wish there was a better racing game out there FOR ME. I know plenty of you like GT 2 much better but I personally don't like the tracks, the graphics seem too arcadish, and it feels as if the cars have too much grip on the track, but I am a fan of the iAP system so I have it on my phone as well. I just can't win with either of these games, so I've started to play these games casually instead, which is what these games are aiming for and I seem to be enjoying the games more. This is just a recommendation to some of you guys. If you want a game that you can play excessively then go for RR3 but the car variety isn't as big.

Some people moved to A8 and GT:2, but in my case I still prefer RR3. No other racing game on iOS gives me the same amount of feeling when I race.

    Technically, RR3 is massively superior.

I'd 100% agree that technically it is a powerhouse.
The developers and programmers did a truly extraordinary job that won't be surpassed for a long time to come yet.
So what I said earlier wasn't meant to in any way criticise them, that'd just be real stupid thing to do.

I simply wish I didn't have to spend such a huge amount of money to complete it at this stage after the updates or to be competitive in the multiplayer or tournaments.
I've already spent 50 quid on it along with playing it for over a year and I'll still need to spend at least 6 times that or grind for another year.
I dunno, I've just kinda hit my upper limit after looking at what I need to do to progress or get any kind of sense of progression.

I still think its a technical masterpiece and that the team at Firemonkeys did a truly extraordinary job.
At release, I could easily see completing it, the timers didn't and don't even bother me at all, but now with the amount of gold upgrades alone that I need to get the required pr requirement, it's just too hard to see light at the end of the tunnel so I have to sidebar it for the time being.

But, just to be very clear, I still think Firemonkeys are an amazing team and that the game itself is a true technical tour de force.

Absolutely! Agree with everything. The killer for this game is the gold earned versus Gold required.. You will NEVER earn the gold required in game for all upgrades and cars, I have spent real dollars on this game (more than anything else on the App Store) but I cannot justify $100's of dollars for IAP for gold. Real shame.

    I agree.
And even while I do agree, I'm not even bothered about earning versus spending to that extent. If a product is good, buying stuff is never the issue for me personally.
I'd simply be happy if buying it offered any form of value for money or if one could buy some for a reasonable price.
A couple of dollars for ten gold is simply pointless as ten gold wouldn't make a dent in anything.
Never mind 100 dollars for 1000 gold which still wouldn't be enough to fully upgrade even one of the top end cars. 5000 gold might make a dent but even at that, you'd still have to buy more.
It's the high prices are the killer more so than anything else as the game itself is excellent.

Deleted today. 170 hours in and nowhere near unlocking the top cars. I should've played harder before the worldwide release lol

    ?

Well my progress has pretty much stopped now, I used to play this every day hardcore. Now I am kind of stuck between not enough money or premium currency to upgrade my top cars enough to get trophies. Plus I dont feel like going back racing my slower cars really, I might of just had enough. Awesome game while it lasted though!

I was like you guys and had given up on the game due to impossible gold requirements, that is until I found out about a certain time trial bug. With it you can earn 2-3 gold every few minutes with only minimal interaction. You can easily make 600 gold in a day if you are persistent. No hacking involved.

I don't know how much info I can post about it here, so I'm just going to say if you're interested do a Google search for "real racing 3 gold mining" and you should find more details.

It´s time for an update with new cars (and new tracks). The last updates were released every 4 weeks.

Somebody found news about a new update?

Update out now, but addressing multiplayer issues mainly. No new vehicles unfortunately..
I wish theey would restructure the pricing of Gold, or let you trade R$ for gold.

haha I've deleted mine. I did buy a car pack with real money but just see the game as a cash cow now, the AI balance is way way off, I played some of the first level games and a maxed out BMW M1 get's out accelerated everytime by a AI controlled Focus RS!

So I have now gone right back to..... Real Racing 2! No IAP and tons of content that you can unlock without wasting your entire life away.

Something incredibly strange happened to my game today and I wanted to know if anyone else had the same kind of issues.

I was flicking through the menu, but when I came out of the store, where the Free Gold sign usually appears, was a Sigma sign:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/7iwjatfl54q14l6/realracing1.png

When I clicked it, it opened up what looks like a free race selection menu but a few of the options looked like debug options, such as SANDBOX.

I was able to launch a 4 player split screen where I was controlling every car...

    Also got the odd glitch!

Has anybody else seen this or managed to duplicate this?

I had the sigma sign myself once. From discussions on another forum it seems completely random and nobody has been able to work out any sort of pattern as to repeat it on demand.

FYI there's an even better gold bug doing the rounds now than the one I previously mentioned. 200 gold every 1-2 minutes once you get the method down. Works in 2.0.2 and below.
