I just got negative points for winning a multiplayer race. Sure it matched me with lower RP players, but that still seems a little ridiculous.
I'm level 55, 1.1 million R$, 450 gold. I have been only going for 75% in each series and not using gold for full upgrades. I'm using brake on off and low and finding some races like endurance getting tougher. Is it recommended to fully upgrade at least 1 car? I'm trying to save gold so I don't have to spend real $ down the line. At what point in this game is it hard to advance without spending money?
I just ignore endurance races and try getting to 75% without spending gold. Lexus LFA Showcase has only 1 car and it cost 130 gold. So that might be tricky i guess.
I've got 100% on most of the amateur series and a few in the next bracket as well without spending gold on upgrades. In fact, I suspect I will 100% any series that does not have special PR races that require gold upgrades. Unfortunately the LFA showcase is a prime example and you will need to fully upgrade that car at a huge gold cost if you want to complete it and unlock the Porsche series. Just to get to 75% in that series will require gold upgrades. The Zenith series and a few others will also require gold upgrades of the best car to meet the PR requirements for some races. I think you can complete most series to 75% without spending gold but in some cases that won't be enough to unlock the next series. To spend your money the most wisely you should plan out a route to unlock cars you can afford so you can buy them at the showcase discounts. This is especially true for the cars costing gold. Never pass up a showcase discount and watch carefully so that you don't unlock one before you have the money you'll need to buy the car.
But the Porsche series can be unlocked immediately by entering '50 years of 911' into the 'Enter Code' section somewhere..
There is no sarcasm! Why should I buy 67 cars and upgrade them if I like only 2 cars... Lamborghini Veneno was weird in this game. Pretty strange... NOT FIT!
In one case, I got less points getting in the first position than the guy in 2nd. How does the system work? It's pretty strange.
My opinion of the endurance races are that they are a good opportunity to learn to navigate traffic. The game tries to time it so that you have to pass cars in the turns so you learn where to adjust your line since the other cars will always be on the racing line. The secret to beating them for me is to stay on the track (!) and don't touch any opponents if at all possible. I'll brake to get around them but not hit them. Sometimes I swipe cars at Melbourne but I don't rear-end them. When you hit other cars they all speed up. I've been behind 3 cars coming into a turn and rear-ended the back one and ALL 3 sped up. Same race, same turn, same 3 cars with braking and not touching anyone and I can drive around all 3 in the turn and be ahead on the next straight. I'm not sure about all the Gold IAP questions. I'm finishing up the Classic American Muscle series and have not used any gold for upgrades since the Everyday Heroes series when I realized I wasn't going to have enough for the big cars at the end. That was about the same time I gagged at the cost of upgrading the 427 Cobra. I'm still completing all series to 100% and it takes a few days at the end to grind on the tracks but I haven't needed to upgrade gold yet. The Cobra series and the AWD Attach series are incomplete because the gold I'll get by hitting 75% is less than the gold it will take to upgrade the cars to reach the PR. That's my line in the sand right now until I can't move forward without using gold. I have 639 gold (even after purchasing the 67 Mustang) and about $1.2M and the SRT-10 ACRX is already purchased and the initial $ upgrades completed. Time will tell I suppose. Still enjoying the game though. Another little note: never start the game in airplane mode. You won't get the in app video ad offers which are always good for at least 1 gold per day.
Well, I'll be damned. That worked. Wish I new that before I spent all that time upgrading the LFA. Thanks.
On the bottom left, hit your settings button, then hit that same settings button to the right and you'll see it.
So is the consensus to buy all the cars and go for 100% completion on most series for that extra gold you get? Short of hacking or spending real money, can you save enough gold for the high end cars by going for 75%?
I doubt it's reasonable to expect to save the 600 + 800 + 900 for the three most expensive cars just by playing the game. If you could save the gold you'd have to be up over level 200 I suspect. I've bought almost every gold car at discount prices except for those 3 and I've only got 180 gold right now. I'm level 107 and I'm hundreds of gold shy from having the gold for those cars. If if spent none of my gold to this point I probably could have bought one of those cars by now.
I've been winning every time trial tournaments. Each tournament has been giving 100 gold as a reward. I will also be taking advantage of the multiplayer tournaments. I'll complete the game easily. No hacks, no cheats.
That's impressive. Tell me honestly, Are your cars fully upgraded (or close to it) or are you just that good? What level are you? In any event I would think its safe to say you are in the minority. I doubt anyone less than level 200 is in your position unless they have hacked the game.
The more I play the multiplayer mode the more I think it's doomed. It's full or poor sports, bad drivers and cheaters already. Most of the time I'm getting pushed off track and if I try to push back it's my car that spins out. Warp has caused me to become merged with other cars at the start of the race and I usually lose out on that deal too. I still get kicked from a game when everyone leaves which gives me a rating reduction. Happens mostly when I'm winning. The full Catyluna track has a major shortcut at the end that people seem to be taking. In the end this multiplayer mode has become just like every other one and it's the main reason I usually stay away from it. I'll go back to the TSM now.
