I just spent a while with the multiplayer mode and unfortunately most players can't resist the urge to push you off. This is one of the things I hated the most on RR2.
This is my biggest turn off too. I did play for a while and found a few races that were clean but I lost a few because I was pushed off. If that gets worse I'll be done with it real soon. I also wonder if the lengthy repair times on the B and A cars will make those races much less populated. With a few of the C cars in your garage you can pretty much race indefinitely as the short repair times allow you to race while cars are repairing. In the other classes you eventually run out of cars and have to wait or go back to C. C cars are much cheaper to upgrade as well so it's easier for everyone to max out those cars to stay competitive. Seems to me the gameplay mechanics they have in place are not going to mix well with the concept of synchronous racing.
They do listen to the community and have released a lot of updates. But I'm not sure they are hearing the community very clearly. From day one people have been outraged at the timers, and most of all, the outrageous IAP pricing. Both of those issues have gotten worse not better. Somehow there seem to be enough people willing to pay the overinflated prices on the game to allow EA to continue raising the prices of game content. With the top three cars being 600, 800, and 900 gold each I'm not sure anyone with a life and unhacked game will ever be able to earn that much gold.
After a couple of hours of racing in multiplayer I'm seeing some familiar issues: heavy lag, cars drifting in absurd ways (sometimes jumping up and down too) and players cutting corners. I guess Firemonkeys could prevent people cutting corners the way they did with time trials.
I'm seeing that as well. I think I've won and lost a few races due to lag warping players ahead or behind. I think it might be a tall order to expect lag free world-wide multiplayer. Hopefully they can implement some sort of latency filter that will pair you up with people you connect well with.
Do you need Gamecenter friends in order to use the new live multiplayer mode? I installed the app after a long time but there's no sign of any multiplayer menu.
Just got back into this game again. Online multiplayer is still too laggy to be really playable, though. I'm currently having a really hard time getting far enough for 1st place in endurance races. Especially the one in the i20 WRC Showcase under AWD Attack. I don't have the money to be able to afford the upgrades for the car, and logging off of GC and putting my phone on airplane mode doesn't make the opponent's distances lesser. Any tips? I'm not even finished with the Pure Stock Challenge , so.. (Feel free to add me on GC, username's in my sig.)
Logging off GC requires a very specific sequence of events to get it to work. Go back a few pages to my post #4501 and I explain in detail how to do it. You need to follow those steps in order to make it use default AI distances.
Firemonkeys... One more time with non-sense prices... 800 Gold... 900 Gold... R$ 1.250.000 R$ 1.280.000 R$ 1.300.000 Thanks for nothing, one more time! Stupid Studio
*sarcasm* If you don't want to spend the next 2 years grinding away to earn that gold and money you can buy the 1700 gold and R$ 3,830,000 for only $300.00 in cash. That's reasonable right? $300 for 5 virtual cars? I suppose you could spend that money more wisely and buy GT6 and Forza 4 for less than $120 and race well over 1800 cars on more many more tracks. So in summary the console games offer you the same cars for less than 7 cents a car while this mobile game offers those cars for $60 a car. Hmmm, which is the better value?
My method which gets me 1st place and "A" for time trial tournaments is: Turn all assists off. Use tilt steering, manual accelerate and manual break. When tapping for accelerate and gas tap near top of your device to basically have full feel of your car which allows you to have more precise breaking and accelerating from the tight corners. This allows you to keep at higher speeds and decrease as little as possible. I have noticed this difference since I used to tap near the middle edge of the screen. I have now converted to the successful top edges.
I hope you like grinding and japanese cars because thats pretty much what you get with GT6. They didnt even bother changing anything those lazy bums.
Yep... GT6 is going down that dark path of IAP / Grinding for money with balance against even grinding given rewards... 1m in-game credits for £8 with some cars costing upwards of 5 - 8m credits = £40 - 50 for a CAR ... a single in-game digital asset .... Given i got the game + 1m credits + 20 anniversary cars for £50 how can 1 single car be worth the same... IAP is just getting out of control .... i used to enjoy completing games ... get to or very near 100% .... now i am 'happy' to get close to 30-40% Whats the point in developers spending money on licensing companies like Ferrari, Bentley etc when many (most?) gamers will NEVER even get close to seeing that content. Nobody wins
Ok, touché about GT6. It's on my Xmas list but haven't played it yet. GT5 wasn't grindy and neither was Forza 4. But I guess those were game made in an era when you got a lot of value for your money.
