I wish they would do another play video after playing this for a while, that would make for an interesting few minutes of entertainment.
I'm curious, are the timers really that big of a deal? I mean like I was before I only play these games on my devices for maybe 10 minutes at a time during my breaks as I work 10 hour shifts. This is why I would never buy a DS or Vita for the simple fact that if I want to sink time into a game I will do it on my couch playing a console. So for me to have to wait half an hour or even 6 hours is not a big deal. My phone and iPads are loaded with thousands of games that I could play while waiting and to be honest racers are tough for me to log lots of time in, even on consoles, for the sheer fact that they kind of hurt my eyes over extended periods of time. But again I don't have a problem dumping money into something that I want to experience and after I played my first race and was floored by the graphics and gameplay I threw down probably $25 or so with no qualms about it. But I can understand how this would be impossible for people who can't do this because they don't make a lot of money or are on a budget. Take the seasons pass dlc for black ops 2, a lot of people were up in arms over the fact that it was $50, almost the price of the original game. It does seem like a lot up front, especially considering you won't be immediately rewarded with the product you're paying for. However the way I look at it is that by the time the 4 dlc packs are released you will have probably close to 16 new mp maps, some zombie maps and modes and perhaps even new weapons. Plus the fact that I've already sunk well over 200 hours into the mp and zombies I would say that I'm going to get my money's worth. But like I said I do probably fall into the minority here and could be considered as having more money than brains but if I see value then I will happily pay my way.
I would rather pay for the game, and be able to play it without time limits, over and over again. I spend a LOT of money on games, systems, accessories, so money isn't an issue as far as having it to spend. I just don't like to be forced to spend money to be able to enjoy the game on my time, and not their time limits. If there was a $20 IAP that removed ALL time restrictions, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and be fine with it.
That's understandable, why not release as a free game with an IAP to unlock the full game? That would eliminate the piracy no? That the game has an IAP that costs $100+ offends me, who in their right mind would spend that much real money on this game and even then would still not be able to play without timers once the coins ran out?
The whole driving cautiously is actually pretty cool. I think if you crash too often then waiting for your car is pretty effective at making a more realistic race. To be less offensive I would keep damage repair timers but half the time (so you feel the pain but don't delete the game) and completely remove the gradual repairs like oil, engine etc. Was having a crazy race with heaps of prangs. Turned off the game and returned with no damage
I agree. Any game with IAPs going over $50 should be ashamed of themselves. I dread the day one of my kids hits "confirm" and I'm stuck with 1 million points to spend on armor in some obscure Korean RPG
There's a good chance you might like it. It's free to download,so no harm in trying. For me personally the timers are really horrible, but i just bought my third car and i have to find out if it gets a bit better. As Eli has pointed out earlier apparantly i'm not their target audience, you know, really liking race games to be played in big chunks of playtime. I think you might be though. But the timers are not the only problem here. The time shift mechanism isn't really doing it for me. There is no interaction on the track, just a bunch of lifeless ghost drones driving their laps from the past. The cars that are already pumped up will fade at the horizon and the ones with little skill and no upgrades fall back fast. It might be the sweetest thing to look at on the latest generations Ipads and Iphones,on my Ipad 3 i'm not too impressed. Sure,i can tell they put a lot of work on the graphics and backgrounds,it still feels lifeless and soulles.
I seriously doubt they'll be showing up in here any time soon. Funny, considering how active they were prior to selling out.
I'm in Canada and I downloaded it around 3pm EST by clicking through the link in the OP but what's odd now is that when I click that same link it doesn't pop up and I can't find it in any searches. Weird.
US and Canada have the same time zones, lol. So, 11pm Eastern in Canada is 11pm Eastern in the US. But yes, you'll have to wait for 11pm Eastern or 9pm Pacific.
Ya know what I do for 15 minutes while I'm getting an oil change at Jiffy Lube? Play games on my iPad. Oh wait...
30 minute into game only is not that scientific... Worse, main and repairs are not done in parallel, if u have a lot of changes to be done and want to save your gold, better find something occupying you for some time.
