Just what I feared. Those who start anew will totally find this unplayable and you actually meet paywalls in this version. /sad

You still don't get it, do you? I'm all for levelling/upgrading/unlocking, but the way it is done here is a bit too much. If the cash payout was twice as much, then maybe things would be infinitely better.

Anyways, I still don't know what the unlocking system is for a newbie. How long will it take that person to get to the fast cars?

I remember buying the MP412C, Porsche GT 4.0 and Audi LMS...all early on into the game. These "fast" cars complemented the slower cars I had, and was what made me continue playing at the beginning.

If to get these cars you now HAVE to complete, say, the first 4/5 series, then I don't know man...people will just lose interest.

You seem overly protective of the game and are stretching your arguments to unbelievable limits. I just hope you're not the guys EA send to infiltrate forums and praise their games.

Cause I owned about 50 cars before the update, the unlocking part wasn't too much of an issue, but I can see how it would create a lot of frustration. Being able to pick and choose vehicles and events is part of what kept the playability. I'm a massive fan of FireMonkeys, but I can't help but feel sad that they are trying every way possible to milk the cash from this game( if you believe other forums they haven't achieved anywhere near the revenue on this that they were expecting.). Someone on one of the FireMonkeys threads put it superbly, something along the lines of....."people don't want to throw money at this to only end up in the same position 24 - 48hrs later, if we could pay for content that we got to keep and use, not for consumable stuff, then people might be willing to spend some money"
Like I've said before, despite the drawbacks I love this game a cannot stop playing. I am glad I'm not starting from scratch now though.

Holy crap, I just realize you only get friend bonuses for 10 (or is it 12) friends! Basically, it can only at max double your base race winnings. I definitely remember getting bonuses for all 21 friends beaten in a grid full of TSM buddies pre-update. (more than 2x the base race winnings).

Another sign of EA making life difficult for its fans...haiz.

Really? That's what you're going with?
I'd be cautious before you start making false insinuations about other forum members.

Simply because one is a fan of a particular game and developer and understands the model and mechanics of a game doesn't make one a schill account. Which, by the way, if I was, the mods ban such accounts as they frown very heavily on such things. As they do false insinuations.
My post history and many other members on here would make it very clear that is not the case with me.

I do get the game very well and enjoy it even with the limitations of a freemium model.
When I don't enjoy a game I simply hold down on its icon until it shakes and then press the "x" that appears on the top left corner.

And if you believe I'm stretching my arguments to unbelievable limits by simply quoting my progress in the game and the benefits a progression system bring, perhaps you should just employ a strategy of not replying further to my posts. I certainly shall be adopting it in relation to people that make false insinuations.

I agree with you man, I bought one of the corvettes before the update and I loved seeing how fast it was. That car kept me coming back alone but now its way harder to unlock the nicer cars so I already am losing interest at a fast pace.

    That wasn't swearing.

    But my apologies

But seriously, we should be allowed to sell our cars.

I'm confused, too. When did god damnit become swearing, I wonder?

Back on topic: the version with the glaring sound of breaking glass on collisions that I had to roll back to is giving me massive amounts of cash and xp (thus gold).

I lost a ton of progress but frankly the speed in which I'm earning coupled with A.I. that is actually a challenge means I'm loving it.

A8 is going to keep me from ever getting that Porsche again.

    Watch the swearing.

It's blasphemy to those who believe in a god, and thus offensive to them, which essentially is what swearing is (i.e. profanity, which also means offensive or blasphemous to a religious group or people in general). It's actually probably older than other common swear words.

I'm having a blast turning off traction control. I usually turn it off on other games but never really thought to in this one.

Has anyone tried fully upgrading everything except the tires? Will doing that reduce traction?

Watch it, you might end up banned for that sass.

I'm very much missing a drift mode right now.

    Unless you're Sanuku or something.

Does anyone know if the astroturf-looking stuff at the corners and other various spots on the Hockenheiming track is fine to drive on? I feel like I don't notice my car slowing down when I drive on it, but if anyone who's more into the finer details of the game can verify, that'd be awesome.

If you don't notice slowing then obviously it's not bad enough to avoid and is often much faster than taking certain curves. Good for passing.

The rule is, as long as you are still within the green markings, you are not cutting corners thus your car won't slow down. But be careful not to confuse it with grass.

Learning the right speed to approach and leave a corner without braking too much and with the right deceleration and acceleration is the key to creating a wide gap between you and your opponents ( in any racing game literally)
