I deleted this game out of rage (after losing my progress randomly) and lack of space a month or two after it released. Re-installed it yesterday with the update. The lack of racing games on the App Store forced me to, I hate a lot about this game, but it satisfies my addiction and need for speed on mobile.

    That being said....

....this is annoying the shit out of me. I have gold before the green light.

    WTF easy mode!

I was struggling on one race, only 3rd on a perfect run. NOW I won by 2200yd, and lapped the last 3 cars, amd that was with one overshoot into grass.

Not having to break as hard on turns.

Another Race, went from struggling to acheive second, to first with 80s on the clock in Endurance. The 1st place goal was 1.7km!!!!!???? WTF

My guess is that with everyone pointing out how easy it is now, it will soon get an update to "fix". Then well be complaining that its too hard to win.

Getting gold is way easier now, but beating friends in TSM after that is still quite interesting as their best times are much better than the in-game times you race against at first.

Just in relation to the ease of winning since the update people are mentioning.
That changes very quickly the more you play so build up some golds wins while you can. :)

From what I gather (I asked, got an answer), its essentially down to your individual skill rating (yes, theres a skill rating/scaling generated as you play) being reset to the lowest point after the update. And the lowest rating was lowered because of the amount of customers who said it was too difficult (as GPS said above, sometimes you gotta be careful what you wish for :) very accurate in relation to this game, I think they listened too much).

Plus, a lot of races are populated by the AI at the moment. Not enough of players data has synched properly yet to the tsm system.

Its essentially the same as racing offline was before which was always very easy.

The more the tsm system adjusts and relearns your skill level, along with the re synching of the tsm system itself, the harder it gets.

Its essentially just down to the reset (because of certain measures they brought in) that happened with the update.

Trust me, it definitely gets much harder. The first bunch of races I did were very easy as well. Getting positions at all is much more difficult now.

So essentially the more you play, the AI learns again and the difficulty scales higher.
And even at that, in a while, as players data is loaded up and the servers get more efficient, the difficulty will automatically increase because of all the other players data that you will be racing against

TSM is a learning/adapting system after all so the reset was naturally going to make it easier for a vshort period of time.

So, as I said, get your gold results while you can :)

Oh, one last thing. As you progress higher in a championship anyway, even the AI gets more difficult.
And if you look at the labels on top in the menu, as you scroll through, it goes from amateur to expert. This also scales difficulty levels.

It might be just because you don't have to do repairs as often, but the timers for service feel greatly increased. The added Time Trial currency is ridiculous, but whatever. The thing that actually bothers me about it is that you can't just get them out of the way in circuits you've completed (and are no long 100) or mostly completed.

I also don't like that they've gated car purchases beyond just having the money. Now, if you just wanted to grind for a while to get a fast car, you're stuck going through a lot more races. I'm not sure what the performance rating deal is on some races either.

Finally, the new menu layout makes it harder to scroll through to see what cars you need for unlocking a new circuit. And what's the key icon for? Does it just let you jump to the circuits available for the car you currently have selected? If so, it feels mostly useless.

My only gripe is that it seems like the cash for a win has been reduced. But it also seems like service costs are down.

I haven't played this game for a while, but I reinstalled it now, along with the gamesave I had before.
Don't you feel the AI is a lot easier now?

This update is everything I dreamed and a lot more.
Having unlocked 80 percent of all the event sections, I felt lost at times what to play and what to do next to progress.
Now it feels like a nice linear straight forward overview I can work with.

And I have been whining (and cursing while playing) regarding the tedious GUI choices, most notably the repair screen. That one most of all in fact.
And finally there is this one single button I have been hoping for each and every single update.

This game is amazing. There hasn't been a game (on any platform) that I play for such a long time almost daily, if not daily.
Ever since it got released in NZ, I've been at it and not even really looked at other new iOS titles like I used to.
One could say that Real Racing 3 has done great things for my wallet, because other then spending 8 euros or so for a car pack when the EU version came out, I have not spent anything else except for iOS sales on my wishlist.
(And some of these games have not even been started up once...)

You can say what you want with all the freemium elements in there and whatnot, but in my experience I can play and play and play until the iPad battery runs out and beyond.
I can imagine the beginning is tough for new comers, but once you have an arsenal of machines you can keep yourself entertained forever as the only thing you have to wait for are the track loading times!

It feels like a reborn game, and as Rip said: the races will get tougher.
However, some races felt darn right impossible if you aimed for 1st place, so I do hope it doesn't reach that level of insanity again.

Fantastic job well done once again, Firemonkeys! Game on! :D

Well said, I really love this update too! There's a couple of things I'd change, but that's like any game really. There is no other game on any platform that I have played as much AND keep playing. The only other recent game purchase for me has been Colin McRae, but hardly gets played at the moment cause I'm still racing this!
