Yeah, the game is much more about buying and upgrading the cars and racing against other "real" players (really just AI assisted versions of others) than about the tracks (though some of the tracks are based on real racetracks around the world).
Gran Turismo also gets this critisism, but theres nothing that can be done because the tracks look that bland and boring in real life.
Well there's nothing stopping them from making their own tracks or using more rural tracks. I've seen GT tracks other than typical urban street tracks. Mountain, forest, coastline, etc. tracks would be a lot of fun to race.
I want to see this game grow. More detail, birds shitting on my window, windshield, horn, puddles, splashes, bumpy roads, traffic, terrorists, bin Ladin airlines, FERRARI's, open world driving. I missed a crapload but don't worry I'm sure you get the idea. I've done about 140hrs in this game and I've still not had the chance to drive the veyron or agera worth 800 coins... How the hell did you guys spend over 300hrs in this game..
I got a push notification from this game yesterday that I could have sworn said something about "get the free..." but when I loade the game, there wasn't anything special. Anyone know what that said?
I think it was a typo or something. I got the same message but I think it just meant, "get the new.." kickstart car.
While I honestly don't mind the push, and I've been playing the current event anyway, that's a shady message to send. And speaking of the current event, how does the bonus time work? I played at like 7:30 in the morning, and it didn't give me anything... but then it also didn't give any bonus fame right after 10:00 either. On the bright side, I leveled up during that short time when it was dishing out the fame. What are the chances the extra paint jobs will still be available when it ends? Finally, is there a place where the next event is announced ahead of time?
I'm loving this game right now, the real world race tracks are excellent. I honestly believe that this is the best freemium and race game on the iOS market. The cars, tracks, sounds are outstanding. Rip, If your still reading this thread, I saw your time on Mt Paramour with the Z1 Camaro. I'm pretty impressed. I think your time of 4:11 is going to be really hard to beat, even with all upgrades.
Thanks. I haven't upgraded the cars fully even, no gold upgrades at all. Using assists less is still the key to the best lap, for me anyway. But turning off brake assist is a bit hit and miss for me. Sometimes if I get the racing line just right, its a perfect lap. If I don't get the line right, its a mangled mess of spins and grass marks. So I've kinda decided to keep minimum brake assist most of the time and turn it off when I really want to challenge myself and try and get a good time. Darn
Not playing as much, but still putting in times. I have all the cars except the Bugatti and the two koeniigsegg in game cash cars. So I've put time on all the tracks in all the cars more or less. And completed a lot of the championships. At the 70% completion point. Holding off on going too far into championships with three cars because there will eventually be a fourth added to those events. And I'm expecting the next update (v1.2) to be a really big one. Mainly playing the mailbox ones at the moment. I consider it a quick play type of mode and I get to race a range of tracks and use a lot of the different cars. Really enjoying the Dubai track as well. Its really quite difficult to keep it on track there and get a good time.
I am still trying to get enough gold for the Agera R. I have only fully upgraded 2 cars, the rest vary greatly. I find earning cash is slower now, so I am trying to balance my spending to save for the cars I don't yet have(all the really expensive ones). I've 100% in 17 of the series. I did find in the last update that if you had completed a series and got the $ and gold bonus, if they added a car or event, you got gold and $ for completing the series again. Still really enjoying the game, I can't put it down! Dubai is very satisfying when you nail a great lap.
Just wait until you start accidentally tapping the gold purchases such as repairs and upgrades. I have lost 100 gold coins already because of this. If I reach a point where I cannot complete the game I will just delete it.
Not something I'm really going to worry about. I tend to just read the writing on buttons before pressing them.
