Do cloud saves use iCloud? Asking cause I have 4.3.3
Also, how is the performance on iPad 2? I had occasional stutters at the start of a race, but nothing too disappointing, considering how overloaded and overtweaked my iPad is

Hence I quoted you bellow in my previous post, as I was thinking of you.
Didn't you like the cockpit view, but switched to chase cam due to performance issues as well?
Either way, whatever view you like to use, the difference is very noticeable.

Absolutely. The game code is essentially the same regardless of country.
With 100 percent absolute certainty, I can tell you right here and now the cloud data works fine across versions.

Or use iFunbox, and simply drag and drop the Documents folder to your PC. If something like that would really happen, then at least you have a backup.
Personally I don't see what a week of waiting will do for you, since many have already updated and so far zero reports have come in regarding progress loss.
(Plus you get 800mb of space on your device back!)
But up to you of course. Just trying to assure you it's perfectly safe, since this is Firemonkeys we are talking about.
(And remember that Cloudcell probablly already has a backup of your save data, as it saved mine already 11 days ago by itself apparently.)

No, this game uses its own servers for the cloud services.
It has zero relation to Apple's iCloud.

  4. Thanks for all the info. Will wait maybe one more day for feedback, then maybe I will update. The 800 mb savings, ipad 3 improvement and cloud saves are very tempting.

    Thanks.

I will confirm that if you back up your progress to the cloud, then delete it and reinstall it, then restore progress, you will have all your progress. I took a chance and did that so I could switch to the Canadian version and it worked fine for saving all my progress.

I don't think anyone has pointed out one of the best changes in the update yet - no more smashing glass sounds! Light touches now just make the slightest of sounds. It's actually a bit jarring at first because I'd grown so accustomed to the glass smashing parties of before. :D

Oh man, that was something I hated. Glad that got fixed, big style!

That is great! The glass sound was do dramatic, with some crowd booing for a light brush on somebody's bumper
Also, great thing that they use cloudcell for saves

Very very nice update, no real complaints about it here. Time to support them with an iap purchase so they keep at it. Odd, I thought there used to be a 100 coin purchase option.

    Hrm.

Oh snap! Totally forgot about that, but you are entirely correct!
It's only during my first race after the update it popped up in my head again: "Oh yeah! I wonder if they finally fixed that annoying glass sound!"
And indeed... I smiled as I noticed that after one race with some minor bumping the sound was never heard of again! Fantastic! :D

Does anyone know if cloud sync works automatically (i.e., I race a bit on my iPhone then switch to iPad to continue) or do we need to manually tell it to backup/restore if we want to keep multiple versions of the game in sync?

Spot on! Yesterday I deleted three or four friends because of that. It got very easy spotting the bastards.

It may backup automatically but it's sure not frequently. Yesterday was my first real time with the game. I played between a iPhone 5, iPad 4 and a mini and never was it automatic. I had to go back to previous device and upload the save then go to new device and download it. But at least it's there

One thing I hope that hasn't changed, is the resetting rewards for TSM. If it waits until someone beats you, I'll give up on the game. Can anyone confirm if this is still in?

From what I see, it doesn't reset as often as before. More than 24h since I cleared all my friends on a race, and it still didn't reset.

Atleast they fixed the broken glass & the chainsaw sounds. But what's with the sound when you drive over the finish line which sounds like a fart. Also the noise from the exhaust flames. I wondered what it was for awhile until I changed the camera view and noticed it was the flames from the exhausts.

Not sure what's with the 'Launch' button in drag races on the iPad now. It's about 1/4 the size it used to be. Maybe it's a new challenge, you not only have to time it right but also hit just the right spot. :p

Maybe it was a reduction in the image quality to save space and they forgot to stretch it back to the previous size.

Never heard the fart at finish. Chainsaw after the race you mean? It would be nice if this sound was unique to your car in the race being revved up.
Turbocharger exhaust sound is here stay, it adds realism and I like it

Cool. Deleting hackers. Best way to spot them is money earnings vs spent.
