It is a full time job just keeping tabs on this thread. I give up for now. Hopefully we shall hear some positive things soon from people.
Just switched my AppStore to Australian real quick so I could just see what the app description is and such and I stumbled upon the IAP. Take from this what you will but my mind through up a serious red flag.
In the street spec league you do an oval track race 2 laps, if you take one corner wrong so you exit slow the cpu will drive up behind you full speed and whack you one without trying to overtake, causing 5 minutes of damage and knocking you into the wall. what the hell! it's not like I drove into them, the computer just don't see you and will hit you no matter what or squeeze you into a wall like a bully, 3 attempts in a car which can win first but always cheated out by the AI, they will hit you in that race.
That's true. Knowing now that I won't be getting RR3 after all, I reinstalled RR2 and have been having a lot of fun this afternoon.
Are you going to buy IAP's? If the answer is no, then you can continue with it installed. The only thing is that whenever the game gets updated, you'll have to introduce the password of your foreign account to update it. The rest is identical. If you're going to invest some money in the game, you'll probably have to download and reinstall again when it gets released in the US. I have checked iCloud and the savegame is not there, so you'll probably need to begin from zero.
Try turning all the assists off, if you haven't already, it's a bit wilder, but you should be able to make up a few positions on the track.
You can't afford a new car that early in the game without IAP, this is the worst thing because it is going to scare away a lot of new players before they even get to another vehicle.
I suppose I should've expected this to be another of EA's new generation of fully IAP-driven (!) titles, but it still stings a lot. From all accounts, it looks like they've once again taken a trusted and beloved IP and crashed it.
Ok, finally able to get the game from a NZ account I made thanks to JCman7. The game looks great on my iPhone 5, and plays just as well as it looks. It's too bad it went the route it did. I was hoping that this would be a great game to spend a lot of quality time with.
Wow, you don't visit TouchArcade for a couple hours and all of a sudden there's a Real Racing 3 thread with over 600 posts. The 28th should be an interesting day.
Game Impressions Good news: The IAP is a non-issue. Bad news: Because the frame rate is garbage, the physics are garbage, the sound effects are garbage. If you are someone (after playing) who'll buy into the hype of this being the pinnacle of gaming on iOS, you'll probably buy into the IAP. Or not. I really don't know. What I do know is this: if you aren't just shaking your head at the whole debacle after a couple of races, I don't much care to know about any of your views on gaming.
How much was real racing 2? Spend that much on new cars and just bounce between them. I've been playing hours and I haven't eaten into my coins yet
Can events be unlocked without IAP, and what IS an event? Is it a 'cup' with a series of races, a single race, etc.? Can access to all tacks be done without IAP or with IAP under $10 US? As for frame rate issues, don't forget to reboot.
