It's worse: If you drive "poorly" you do benefit. All the AI cars seem to follow a perfect line. They're all in the middle of the track so why would I drive there, too? They're also always in the perfect spot to use them as emergency brakes before a turn, since they're in the exact place you want to be, going at the exact speed you want to be at to make the turn. The best strategy for starting a cup race is driving right past everybody off the track inside the first bend.

I feel bad that other players may see my tag next to an AI car. This is worse then Super Mario ghost cars, there I can at least see how the other guy drove.

Your first problem means someone in your friends list has beat your score and the games letting you know. Ignore it if your not a friend chaser.

Your second problem? A bug, same thing happened to me recently with the toucharcade app. Kept notifying me of the same game, same update. Eventually uninstalled it.

There's productive critism, and then there is you.

Do you think your productive criticism is going to change this game so it is worth keeping on your device?

There's productive criticism, and then there is delusional and oblivious. That is the category everyone is in if they spend a cent on this game.

Oh wait! My Nissan is repaired!

If you don't like the game, don't like the game. If you want to bash it on the forums, then bash it on the forums. But the words you choose in your last sentence that I previously quoted were highly insulting.

I'm sure someone with even a 9th grade education could come up with a better choice of words to describe how they felt about this game.

So I finally saved up 400 of those stupid gold coins (with instant repairs and final engine/drivetrain upgrades taunting me at every turn) and bought the Pagani Zonda R! I have to say it's the most exciting thing I've driven in the game so far, though my next best car is only the Audi R8 V10 Coupe. It handles incredibly, with insane acceleration and very very good braking. The top speed is lacking, so it's hard to win on tracks like panorama or anything else with long straights.

The other problem is that it has absurd repair times. I got about 6 races in with it, then it was off to the shop. I'll get to race it again in about 20 hours. Also, the upgrades on that thing cost upwards of R$100,000. Yes, you read that right, and I didn't mistype it. Simply insane.

I also managed to buy the R8 LMS Ultra just a few minutes ago, looking forward to that delivery. Hoping to get enough coins for the Porsche and then the rest will be going into those engine upgrades I've been holding off on. I'll wait on a sale for that stupid Koenigsegg (it's unfortunate that it's so expensive, Koenigsegg is my favorite hypercar manufacturer).

Ahh, I have received an 'infraction' Taeles. That should make you happy. Was it the candy or pickle comment that was most offensive?

No matter. Time to go show my love to EA for ruining a franchise by deleting RR3. Now, where's my Minigore and Danmaku...

  11. The 20 hour wait timers should now be less than one hour. They were 20 hours about 5 days ago. Try to update to the latest version, or run the app while on wifi so the stealth update can update. It shouldn't be 20 hour waits anymore.

I think most people here are missing the point of what's wrong with the game. In my opinion, it's not the free-to-play model which is actually completely not abusive once you get that 2nd car (just switch between cars while one is being tuned up) which takes about an hour of gameplay. To me the major offender is the AI and the TSM system (Time Shifted Multiplayer, woo, impressive name!). Because of it, cars are programmed to finish at a preset time. Therefore they must travel on a precise line, not try to overtake one another and they can't make mistakes. This causes a never changing train of cars as they never deviate from their course. It's a very poor design decision in my opinion. I would have much preferred to play against an erratic AI than these drones.
Still, the game is quite fun for what it is, even though it is far from perfect. However as we are left with a game which is only about breaking on time & cornering, as the AI poses zero challenge, it probably won't hold my interest for very long.

They are only about an hour for most of my cars, and unless an update came out in the past 12 hours or so I'm at the latest version (USA app store version 1.0.2 (H68)). It's just the Zonda R that has the absurd times.

  14. Wow, there better not have been another stealth update to change it back to 20 hours... Weird that the higher end cars would have 20 hour waits, but maybe it is that way to suck you into buying inapps. Can someone confirm these two things?

No, I think we're seeing exactly what's wrong with the game. It begins with an I, followed by an A, and then, you guessed it, a P.

I hate freemium IAP as much as any guy here, and secretly wish this game to fail commercially for the message it will send other developers because of it, but also believe it isn't horribly implemented here. Once you buy your second car, and then the third, there is really no need to drop money, I've played quite a bit and didn't hit a pay wall and just keep switching between my cars.

For me, the AI, due to the TSM system, is the number one offender for enjoying this game in the long run. It's just not fun playing against programmed drones who must follow a line and can't overtake as they have to finish the race at a preset time.

The Carrera GT is the highest spec car I have, and that's about 6 - 10 hours for repairs depending on how much fun I have on Southbank. So yeah, higher tier cars need extra TLC.

I doubt you're going to find a lot of people with the zonda to be able to confirm, honestly. My Porsche 911 GT3 RS takes roughly 1.5-2 hrs for a full service, I think it's similar with the Audi R8 V10 Coupe. So I think it's not that they've changed it back, but rather that the high end cars (Bugatti, Pagani, Koenigsegg, maybe the McLaren F1 and the Porsche 918s also) just have longer timers.

Wow, if that's the case, I might have to re-think what I wrote previously on the freemium IAP implementation here...

  20. So, as your car gets better, the wait timers increase? That is kind of bunk, I was under the maybe false impression that wait timers were kind of equal for all cars, cause I didn't hear this reported here before. I wonder if they did this on the last update, this is strange.

I have been doing my test on my focus, it has less than one hour wait timers. So a high end car is going to take over 20 hours??? What the heck? I would be hella mad if I paid real money for a great car, and had 20 hour waits. So a mid car is going to get 2 hour wait timers, and a fairly good car is going to get 6 hour wait timers?

Is this how it works now? Weird cause no one reported this before... Everyone was reporting 2-20 hour waits, but it seemed consistant no matter what car you had. Or has this tiered wait timer thing always been there?

    Strange.
