The was one point where the AI literally drove slightly off the road to prevent me from getting off the grass and onto the racetrack, forcing me to crash into him.
It is a very clever and intelligent AI and not crap AI. But not a good AI. Definitely not good, very very bad... But clever and well designed for all the wrong reasons.
This whole freemium is bad news, but what is this wait time? We have to wait between races, and buy inapps if we want to play some more??? That would suck.
+1 Well said. This a well-thought out opinion. That was my suggestion from the start. There are 2 major audiences with this game: The casual gamer who wants to compete with times on Facebook and maybe just wants to play one race a day or something like that, and of course there are the hard core games who want a extensive meaningful career mode and would spend hours and hours racing through the game. 1 game can't fit us all, so it would've made SO MUCH more sense if they made 2 versions of the game, each tailored to a specific market. Something like 'Real Racing Time Shift' specific to all the social multiplayer stuff with all the IAPs they can imagine. This would be nice offer the casual consumer a free good-looking game that he/she can compete with friends, and would pay reasonable IAPs for. And then a proper 'Real Racing 3' game with a real career mode, and free races without all the crap about waiting time and gold. This would be so appreciated by the hard-core games, and I bet they'd be willing to pay $14.99 or close to that. Games like The World Ends With You and Soul Caliber are priced even more than that, and they're selling really well to their tailored hard-core gamers market. It really doesn't take a genius to figure this out.
Fact is, every person who complained about this will download the game. I'm obviously exaggerating here, but you get the point. Then we play the game, then we complain some more. That's fine... Coz that's what makes us human.
Oh, the more of this thread I read, the worse it seems. And it hurts even to think about what apps I will delete tonight. Oh no!!!
pro tip, when you need to buy a 2nd car for the next events, save up for the 2nd or 1st car on the right, there is little point buying the slower cars on the left and tuning them up, you might as well start with a better vehicle which will last you longer in that league. This game...
Yeah, only read three pages, and it grows and grows, and almost all seems like bad news. I hope at least it plays well on hdmi tv.
Ok to sum up for the ones just coming Wait times for upgrading, repair, servicing, buying your first car amount others.
I think Gameloft has the perfect blend of inapps and premium right now. Asphalt 7 is one heck of a great game, and the inapps are not necessary, and other than the popups, don't take away from the game. I kind of wonder now if I will like real racing 3 as much as I like Asphalt 7.
as long as you dont mind playing like 5 races that are 20 min more or less and waiting 6 hours to repair your car and playing agains people who buy iap to have better cars so you can win I don't think the hdmi could make this any better
Just downloaded it and played a bit, it's a fantastic game but for sure the freemium model just ruins the fun. Racing just twice and you have to wait for repairs. Just ridiculous I knew once EA took over what was firemint it wasn't a good thing for us gamers. I still don't get why you can't just upgrade to a premium game and pay a one time fee to get rid of all this nonsense. Guess they really want to soak up every possible penny from children who click buy on their parents devices. It's sad to see such a quality racing series be turned into trash like this.
Oh, I get all you guys references now that you race for a very short time, and can go watch a movie on hdmi. Hope it's not as bad as all of you are saying. Makes me really sad. Buying better cars to gain advantage via inapps is one thing, but I don't like this timer based stuff at all, especially with big disk space games that you can not delete and upload easily. Was so looking forward to this game, now, after only reading about 7 pages in this thread from those of you playing it right now around the world, it looks terrible. So sad.
