Can't wait to see how iTunes will rate this game... My guess is not good (judging on previous EA games).
I really don't see why everybody is whining about the IAPs that feature in Real Racing 3, among other small things. The game is free. you're losing absolutely nothing when you press 'Download App'. there's pretty much no investment needed to be made here, so If you don't like it, simply delete the game, and download a Need For Speed racer, or something that better suits your needs. People keep bending around the fact that it's really that simple.
Watching Survivor right now on tv, gonna play some RR3 on my tv after so I can finish my unscientific wait timers test to see how much wait time there is compared with before.
With that said, what is the future for a game like Hundreds, where there isn't really a place for IAP? Do you see games like Hundreds, or Year Walk, or any of the other amazing stand-alone experiences dying off in favor of a F2P model? Or will developers continue to produce unique titles that push boundaries and innovate for the sake of innovation? You have experience. I'm genuinely curious what you think.
I'll save you the trouble. It's 1 hour for all the 5 factors combined now. I'll leave some space for that to settle in In other news, Justin Davis of IGN just published his review of Real Racing 3, himself giving it a 9.1...heres a link to the review: http://m.ign.com/articles/2013/02/28/real-racing-3-review
You should know that EA announced today that even their console games will support microstransitions. This path is clearly the way EA is going to take. I doubt all devs will also go into IAP. Esentially there are 3 types of IAPs A) Those that are DLC/extra mode ex. Tilt to Live's Viva la turret mode or Carcassonne's expansion packs. These just added to the gaming experience. B) Those games that have IAP but your gameplay won't be negatively affected if you don't pay ex. Temple Run 2, Jetpack Joyride, etc. C) Those that have IAP and the game is heavily dependent on it (pay to win). ex Real Racing 3 Not everoyne is going to be the C category. Overall most games will probably go the F2P way, its a question of whether the game is better a F2P. Many cases they are not.
I was super excited for this to come out, I've been anxiously awaiting the release since I saw the first TA post about the game, so today I rushed to the app store to get it, and it told me my device needs a gyroscope to play it. I am now going to bed depressed
What device do you have? iPad 1? iPod Touch 3? I don't think those devices are powerful enough to run it anyways.
You can crash, but then you have to repair and service your car more costing money and wait times. Try not to crash, the less you do the better unlike some arcade racing games which are more speed timed based.
Great, thanks. I guess that's an important thing NOT to do when your first playing it. Kinda missed back in RR2 where I would go hella fast around a turn and some AI car would just get into my way and I would hit it full on.
