Ok, something in me told me to pick up my iPad and play RR3. The last I touched it was Saturday. After adding 8 pending friends, I logged in and...WOW! Almost all of the first few championships have full races. A blessing in disguise for me to wait Also, updated it to the latest version. Service times are 1/3 of what they were, and no repair times. Very, very good. Not, I hope EA doesn't F this up anymore. I still want to see more tracks (not cars!!!) and slipstreaming added down the road.
Yeah, the views all vary framerates and gameplay. Worth it to try all the camera views by tapping the camera icon. On the ipad 3, the cockpit view is sluggish to me. Regular car view I like best, framerates great. FPS has best framerates but the view is too low. Normally like on asphalt 7, I like the hood view the best cause it has the best combo of framerates and graphics, but in RR3, it just seems a compromise. So I pretty just use regular car view. But would be curious to see what the ipad 5/6 can do with this puppy, looking forward to more of a true console experience with hdmi tv.
Timers have already changed again. Oil change takes 5min instead of 15min. I don't know which one they'll stay with, but one thing's for sure: they're experimenting a lot with the timers
Your link isn't working, but I don't think you are bursting any bubbles here. Strongly disliked does not really equate to a 7/10, that would signify more an average game with a so so liking. Severly disliked would closer to a 3/10 wouldn't it?
You aren't talking about gameplay right? You are saying you can't play cause of all the wait timers right?
Haven't updated yet, but is there icloud yet, which is the most important thing, especially if one plays a long time or buys coins or inapps? And when you say wait times are better now, before my mod damgaged focus, it has gone from 2-6-20-6 hours. Yesterday I posted a screenshot of 6 hours. Is it back down to 2 hours? I hope so, would like it less than one, but if forced to, could live with 2 hours I suppose. I becha EA will do some more things after the US release, whether for the good or bad that is the question. Wow, there are a heck of a lot of tracks, you want more? Have you finished most of them? And I have to turn TSM on right? Can you turn it off? Since this game is so grindy, was afraid to turn it on for less coins. But should I use TSM? Pretty soon this thread will become unuseable die to the sheer volume of posts. Good luck all, hopefully it will be a pleasant experience, but after a week, all the haterz will have deleted the game and this thread will be back to normal. God save the Queen!
If you are US, it will come out tomorrow (28th), probably at 8 pm, pacific time. But I am not positive. So 33 more hours til Armageddon.
I dunno, today is the 27th here in the US, But maybe you are right. If so, Armageddon will be in 10 hours. But the reason why I don't think so is cause only one newcomer has come in here today. If it has released worldwide like in Asia and the Phillipines, I would have expected a flood of people today already. Where is everyone?
Well as in real life, there are always things that you can't change and have to evolve around to prosper. Unfortunately I don't think the wait timers, freemium model, or expensive inapps are going to be removed, so this thread is being used to help us enjoy the game more.
Dude, not everybody downloads games at 12mn local time! Those that do are the ones who'd have likely already got the game through the NZ appstore anyways.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this comes out tonight, with an official release of 2/28...like all the other games we get at 11PM EST.
I'm curious... the business model and IAP issues notwithstanding, do you fellas actually find Real Raing 3 better than RR2, as far as the actual racing mechanics (controls, physics, car handling, AI opponents, etc) are concerned?
Yes. Much. Some people would argue against the AI, but I like it. I've spent countless hours playing the Forza series online, and compared to the average Xbox Live user, these AI cars are cupcakes. They'll ram you if you cut them off and they *fully* commit to their line, whether you're there or not, but that adds an element of competition for me, as opposed to taking away from my experience. Having your GC friends' names above the car makes things seem slightly more organic, too. I know it's cosmetic, but I also know I need to beat that guy again. The other tangibles...physics and such, are much better than RR2. There is a much greater sense of weight and speed and you really need to pay attention to the idiosyncrasies of the particular car you're driving. In RR2, I felt all the cars were on rails. This is better in that regard.
Maybe they don't have high enough broadband speeds to get it quick so still a lot of time left on the download. The rest are still trying to figure out how much stuff to delete to make enough space for this. Or maybe they just don't care that much or post here? Whatever the case, there were plenty of instructions for how to setup a NZ itunes account... so I think a large percent of those that post here that wanted this game really bad found a way to get it before now. Then again it's not out yet in the UK (7:38pm right now in London) or North America... and that seems to be a pretty decent percent of the TA family.
