Yeah, cockpit view is sluggish on the ipad 3. All others work well. I use the regular car view one and it works great.
Okay I'm sure this post will be moved but I believe it's relevant. How sad is it that something like this is necessary? "How to attempt to enjoy a game while bobbing and weaving to try to avoid its exploitative pricing model". "How to play the system so you can play the game." And why would a review site want anything to do with a game for which such an article would be conceivable? Just sayin...
For me, the FPS is an acceptable loss. I use cockpit view all the time due to the extra immersion it gives. Hope the iPad 5 will be another leap in (GPU) processing power, because I would love a few more FPS for this game (and those to come.) It's also a shame that the small cut scenes showing off the cars in between races lag as heck too. Same if you have quite a few cars and watch the camera panning scenes when going to My Cars. Yup. iPad 5 time.
Because it's a darn good game underneath, and because the game itself has been designed to enjoy without playing a single dime. Especially at the beginning to say the least. This article won't be about cheating around anything, but merely helping people with some handy management strategies to get the very max out of the game is all. Also, please note that *any* kind of input is welcome here and thus goes beyond the scope you are talking about. I understand where you are coming from though, because the original scope stated by Eli is indeed quite clear. (Maybe Eli should expand the scope on that a little bit.)
I've been using the cockpit view the entire time. Last night, I decided to try the other views. The hood cam, was the best for the racing. I love the cockpit view, as it is visually the best for me. The hood cam, is by far, the best view to race, for me. I've switched over to it for now.
Funny. Pondered to do the same after the cockpit view talk. If the FPS boost is big enough, might as well.
I didn't really notice any FPS increases, but I'm using the iPad4... the racing mechanics (if that's the right word) seem better in the hood view for me. I do love the visual aspect of the cockpit though.
So, has anyone downloaded the "official release" version and can confirm that syncing across devices works now?
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but I strongly disliked the game, not for the gameplay but the FTP aspect ruined it. I live in Aus so have had plenty of time to play it. Anyways here is my review of the game. Gave it a 7/10
Can't wait to try this game out. Will it be releasing tonight at 12:01am PST in the US? Also any pro tips from the guys playing the NZ version already? What cars to purchase when your starting out? Are upgrades worth it? etc.
