I'm lvl 54, 16 cars in garage, 250K dollars and 230 of gold (already bought McLaren for 65), 23 hours played.

Waiting it's not main issue anymore. It is idiotic AI ! So yes you can play without spending single cent, but later in game when you race with expensive car and oponent crash you without reason it's pretty much frustrating. Game is frustrating on befinning and after some time again. I didn't play for 3-4 days and I'm not sure if I will continue.

Aha, so you agree with my ascertion that the game is fun after the initial few hours, and then becomes unfun beyond a certain time?

I cannot believe it that I was totally addicted to the game for the first 3-5 days, but ever since last Thursday I only ever opened RR3 once over the weekend.

I think it is just way too draggy, and we all know why its draggy - to make more money out of you. The length of the game has been artificially inflated. We all know that games need to hit a "sweet spot"...but none of this went into the planning of RR3.

I think even then I am still the highest level around here (63 I think).

I have a lot of gold, so I will still keep the game. Maybe get back to it once proper online MP has been added, or a couple of new tracks make their way in.

Oh ya, and another thing, the whole thing is just repetitive to me. 9 tracks. 966 events. You do the maths.

Yes I agree. 900+ events sounds great on beginning but as you said it's very repetitive after some time. I guess only new cars and tracks will atract me racing again. I already turned off notifications to do not bother me anymore.

So after playing the game for almost 2 weeks..I can say that Cup races are idiotic, and just rely on how much you're willing to smash your car up. You always start at 22nd place, and expect to come up to 1st within 3 laps, and maintain your car in-shape -_-

Why can't it be like RR2 where there is a warm-up lap before the race to determine your position on the grid? Starting in 22nd everytime is getting a bit depressing for me :S

Favorite modes for me are Endurance, Autocross, and the Speed Challenges. The drag race one is a bit too easy for my taste.

It is so obvious how developers pushing you to buy IAPs. On tracks like Southbank you simply can not win without doing some damage to your car and that is wrong. It doesn't matter how good driver you are. This game could be epic, legendary. Right now it is just controversial.

I keep reading the same thing... bad AI, repetitive tracks (only 9 locations), no qualifying laps, having to damage your car to win, and the ultimate... boredom. Is anyone left defending this? Anyone besides that new guy?

I don't think it matters if anyone around here is defending it. People are going to play it, I'm one of them. Why are you even inquiring about this game, with your self proclaimed "no IAP" rule. Looking to get free entertainment and then come and bash it? You'll either love it or hate it. There is a ton of quality here, I don't think anyone is going to deny that. Don't worry, you're not going to be wasting any money on this one:)

I'm less looking for free games than I am looking for good quality gameplay.

I'm not close minded to the possibility that RR3 could be worth playing, but I need player feedback to see if there's any reason for me to bother with it. As it stands, it's been a common complaint that the AI in RR3 has been setup to kamikaze it's way through the track and cause your car as much damage as possible... and I think that's something I'm having a hard time ignoring. I don't think I want to invest hours into a game only to feel that same level of frustration shown here. When the AI changes to something reasonable, I'll probably give the game a try because the other complaints aren't as big a deal to me. But I wonder if anyone is left actually defending the game and still having a blast after nearly 2 weeks since most of the regs here seem ready to retire.

    RR3
    Driver level 67.
    25% completed.

    24 cars including
    Aventador,
    918 concept,
    Mclaren,
    R8 v10 and LMS
    911 gt3 and gt3 4.0,
    Zonda R,
    And 16 more.
    Buying Huarya next.

Always a car available for any championship that is unlocked so far so always something to race while a service is in progress.

Have earned up to 70,000 numerous times in races due to prize money and friends bonus.

AI just doesn't want you to win, as any real life competitor wouldn't either. No problem with that.

    No iap bought.
    No clock manipulation.
No hacking (hacking is theft, immoral and illegal where I come from and will result in server side bans soon enough).

There is nothing comparable to this game on the platform. Amazing graphics, huge content, real life tracks and cars. All for the outrageous price of nothing.

(Of course if f2p doesn't appeal to you, get Table Top Racing, its brilliant. Different kind of racing, but simply brilliant with amazing graphics/framerate/content pure racing combat fun from a dedicated hugely talented independent developer.)

  12. Tabletop racing will be on sale this weekend for 99 cents. It is an awesome game, highly highly recommended!

  13. Yeah, that's too bad, was wondering where you went to all of a sudden. Come back, at least for the US release in 2 days.

Now that I have 4 cars, the game is getting much more pleasant to play. Still wish it had been a regular premium game without all this money grab stuff, but the actual racing stuff is getting enjoyable after the 3 hour mark.

Just hope that when one gets to the 40 hour mark that it doesn't lose it's luster like you refer to, and I really wonder how long it would stay on my system cause of the huge close to 2 gb size. But now that I have 4 cars, the game is finally getting more enjoyable for me.

    Great job dude! *claps hands*

Interestingly, I am at 32% completed at a lower driver level with lesser cars (I think 13 or 14).

Which races give you 70k? Please give the exact event. Much appreciated.

I re do a lot of events which gives a lot of cash with a race full of players from your friends list. It also gives xp to level up. Cash and cars is my current target rather than completion percentage.
Some races give more than others but generally the last two races on any championship are good cash earners. A lot of people on friends list is also important because if you have 44 friends for example, you can do a race twice and each race will have different friends and then full bonus cash. Doing it a third time will have no effect as you'll already have beaten those players. So a big friends list is key to earnings.
Two key races to earn cash are the last two in Road Car International championship.
A win give 20 odd thousand (can't remember exact number) and each friend that you compete against gives 10% of position prize money.
So 20,000 for a win and 2000 by 21 friends in the race (rough numbers, works out slightly higher but cannot remember the exact number, 24,000 for win and 2400 per friend I think but could be slightly off). That's for the final race at Suzuka in that particular championship.
There are more but that's particularly lucrative considering the cars that can be used in it are ones most would already have. The 1m BMW upgraded to just before gold upgrades is what I use there all the time.
The race below it at Mount panorama gives about 17,500 for a win and 1750 per friend if its a win (10% of prize money per friend basically).

  16. Well, repaired and serviced my usual car with moderate damage, and now it seems like my wait time is around 6 hours, the same as it was 3 days ago, before it went to 20 hours temporarily for 2 days. So since I have been playing, it has been 6 hours most of the time, 2 hours very briefly, 20 hours very briefly, and I hear that before my time there was a time with no wait timers for a couple of hours.

I personally wish they would take the wait timers out completely or make the waits about 15 minutes. But I really hope that by the US launch in two days, it is reduced from today's approx 6 hrs wait to 2 hrs in the very least. Strange, wonder if after release they are going to play with it this much, changing every 2 days or so on average. Attached is a screenshot of today's wait time in my very unscientific study.

Bug report: the low polygon model of the Dodge Viper SRT10 is missing the wheels. When the low-polygon model appears, it looks like a hovercraft rather than a car :D

Yes I noticed that too..it's quite annoying

And there also this on the BMW M6, which is only on the M6, and not any other Bimmer. I guess this was the modeling before they were sure of they had BMW licenses in the game :p

Welcome everyone to the WMW M6

Right now I'm loving the game. I really, really, hope I'll be able to transfer my save over to the US release. I'm extremely close, with 50K of getting the Audi that's on sale today.

If they improve the AI, and add OMP, I'll drop some coin on IAP just to support their efforts. Oh yeah, also reduce these servicing and upgrade timers of course. Cut them in half of what they are now, and I'll be ok with that.

  20. Yeah, me too but I don't think there is anyway to do it.

    Anyone,
Is it safe to keep the NZ version on if one is not planning on buying any inapps? Is it ok?
