My TV has 5 zoom modes. Normal Zoom 2x Zoom 4x Panoramic Stretch to fit Both stretch and zoom 4x are full screen on my tv. The zoom modes depend on tv, some older tvs have none. This game is not an airplay full screen game, so I have to run it hdmi mirrored. Kinda mixed which mode is better on RR3, Stretch is ok, but zoom 4x looks great to with correct aspect ratios but cuts off the top and bottom a little. I just switch back and forth to get a different feel for the game. Hopefully you have a stretch or zoom 4x mode on your tv. Come join us on the hdmi thread in the general thread if you need any help with hdmi or apple tv. Take care my friend. RR3 in Zoom 4x mode.
Word of advice thought: My iPad3 is a bit sluggish when it is on my 27" IPS TV, not as smooth as I have seen with NFS:MW, not even close to Sky Gamblers. YMMW.
The major part of this thread has been witnessing a half dozen guys battle with cognitive dissonance. I remember when gaming was something folks did to get away from everyday stress and worry.
I wouldn't quite use the word sluggish, I would say the sense of speed and smoothness is better in games like NFS Most Wanted and Afterburner. I think it is related to framerates with hdmi tv. Hdmi tv tends to make framerate problems look worse than on my new ipad. So games with high framerates will have a better sense of speed and smoothness. RR3 plays pretty well on stretch mode on my tv. Not quite console quality, but close enough.
Actually for me as one of the few regs participating in this thread, it has been an interesting and learning experience. Sure there have been frustrations at times, but this thread has been civil as of late, and it had been fun playing the game minus all the bs. That said, this and the ten or so other hatez threads have been interesting, but have to say now that I got 4 cars, having fun, and having fun in here posting away. Interesting thing is that armageddon is in 3 days. Be interesting to see what it will be like. I just hope there is just one thread and not hate all over the board. But we'll wait and see.
Hey Connector, I think the update/ download bar when you started up was a change to the featured event. It's now Audi R8 LMS event with the car at 30% off.
Ha! Maybe Firemonkeys were trying to get their story across in RR3. Either deal with the horror stress of financial, time and resource management. Or screw it all, sell out and enjoy the Lambo.
My game said updating today when I loaded it, anyone get it? Guess a stealth update, did the wait timers change?
I wonder, since many people have posted videos of them playing, and since there is no real good recording programmes for the iTouch 4th gen, if I started a blog or I just uploaded pictures online and place the images in this thread which consisted of me catastophically failing in this game, how many people would read it?
No clock adjusting. That is 20 hours of race time and A LOT of it was on the few days when the timers were better. Even now the timers don't kill the game for me. I know I'm in the minority. In most cases I can only sit down and play for a few races, maybe an hour. It worries me for the higher tier cars though. Seeing my Porsche with an 18 hour maintenance makes me wonder about far into the game, but I've enjoyed the first part tons. I'm just generally not much of a complainer I guess.
To be fair, it is way better than RR2, but still not good enough to play it solely on TV though. (May be IPS TV's refresh rate is subpar) Seriously, I get the sense that the date-adjustment trick is still working. Will download on local store again on 28th. I will not play online likely but hey, hope this time it is even more enjoyable (I miss Mount Panorama).
This is with a fully upgraded Dodge Challenger on the first race of the first unlocked cup with the gold-trophy winning racers....I might not be as fail as you, but still...
Unless somebody does the Top Gear track, I think the Mount Panorama is the most fun track so far (sans the long straight downhill part).
