This game has become a serious addiction for me. Level 27 and 8 cars in, I find myself picking this game up for both short bursts and long sessions alike.
And not once do I run into the situation that all my cars are in need of service.
For me, the timers are still tweaked to 1/3 of the original waiting time and this has never changed. I've got the latest version and restarted the game multiple times as it sometimes freezes when returning back to it (either from standby or the app bar.)
It's so much fun in fact, that I'm pondering to not keep my savegame and just start all over to then buy the All Classes IAP pack once it comes out in my own local AppStore.

But I have to agree with you folks regarding the "rude" AI. It's something I cannot get used to and simply frustrating at times when you are treated as air.
On the flipside: it's great maneuver training actually. Great way to improve your driving skills and it's a rush if you succeed to pass them without trading paint (or worse.)

Maybe he edited his post at the time, but he was specifically comparing it to the other racers on the AppStore. Not games in general.
And darn you for beating me in so many races. I have so much catching up to do as your name just kept popping up in my notifications this weekend! :p

You guys really seem to be competing with one another on this particular event. Perhaps I should give it a go as well.
My Porsche has zero upgrades at this time, though.
May I have your GC ID please? (Or add me: pony_1982)

  5. Now about 3 hours in. As a lot of people mentioned, after your 3rd car, the game really becomes much much funner. At first the wait timers make you want to cuss, but now with more cars, wait timers are not as big of a factor, even though I still hope they go down and not up.

So can say I am enjoying the game now, even though I do not understand the pyramid like inapp scheme where beginners will feel pressured into inapps.

For a freemium game, there is a lot of value and fun, but there is a lot of frustrations and I wonder how long people will keep it on their systems without any current icloud saving system.

Really too bad cause this could have been the BEST games on ios, but in this inapp based game it is only marginal cause of all the issues.

But, I am enjoying the game now with 3 cars, with money for a fourth. So that is cool.

    Yup.
Currently I have five cars and I can say, I can keep playing for a good amount of time with those, and I still have several events to complete.
Currently I have $460k cash (grinding for the Bugatti Veyron, even though I still need to buy a couple of cars meanwhile) and 270 gold (which is fairly good since I'm planning to buy the Zonda R with 20% discount. if that is possible).

I'm not playing right now, but it is as enjoyable as it can get.

472 hours / USD 500? These numbers are too low. Besides upgrades (which DO make a rather large difference), you also need money to skip the atrocious wait times.

Also, I think they just did their calcuations with the cheap money (R$), not taking into account the actual premium currency (gold). I still maintain that the figure of USD $5000 I mentioned a few pages back is more accurate.

However, it's good that some of the bigger sites are catching on to the IAP trap. I am really starting to despise the whole business model, and it's actually what lead me to jailbreak my beautiful iPad. I was happy to spend a few dollars every few days for new games, but I won't have a part in this new generation of business models.

Not having the iCloud support has killed me. For some reason, my iPad4 was out of space. I thought I had just been kinda itchy trigger finger kinda ways, and had downloaded a ton of apps, games. I didn't put any movies or music on the iPad 4 at all. Out of the 28GB of space available, I had less than 1MB of free space. So, I went to the storage portion in the settings, "Usage", and literally added up the 40+ apps I had installed. It came out to only be 10.6GB of space used. When looking in iTunes, it showed 16.7GB of Other space used. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to correct that, and searching for help on the Internet didn't help at all. What I had to end up doing was restore the iPad, and set it up as new. I had previously tried to restore and use the backup, but it never fixed the problem.

Anyways... sorry for the long store.. short version; I lost all my progress in the game. :(

  11. Then just fork over $500, only 100 starbuck coffees. Consider it a diet. :p

  12. $500-$5000 is all way too high, but your figure is probably with other factors put in like wait timer negated, services negated, and other stuff, not just cars and tracks.

But this game is making tons of people jailbreak, hack the save files, hack the system clock, not update to current builds, turn airplane mode on to cheat things, race like wildmen on the grass, and using this as an excuse to pirate other games. It is a trainwreck in this regard. Really justifies the hackers, you can tell with even the most senior of members here advocating such ways.

Really can't understand why EA has to be so greedy about all this. This is their first big name inapp experiment, why not take it slow?

This could have been one of the best games ever on ios. It's redeeming qualities still shine through, but this game and the Real Racing and EA name are going to mud. So sad. As Lost Deputy said it best long ago, it is like looking for gold nuggets in dog dung. So sad... :(

  13. Well, hopefully you didn't buy any inapp purchases. But yeah, they gotta have some kind of cloud purchases or else, you will lose everything, and with a game that is close to 2 gb, most people are only going to keep this on their system for a week or so. I wouldn't be surprised if RR3 is doing somestuff in the background to the other files disk size. I am weary of leaving this game open on my system even in the background since it seems to always be communicating somehow to its servers. With faulty code, they can add tons of crap to your others dir, and interfere with other games running.

Well, I am going to lose all my progress maybe in 3 days when I go to the US version, but maybe I will just stay on the NZ version cause I'm boycotting all inapps in this game cause of the wait timers. It's an interesting experience, but not one I can see playing for the long run, and the frustrations of the beginning may be more than I can take.

People seem to love complaining. There's nothing wrong with the game and no you don't have to spend $500 or any money on it. I have five cars, $600(rr3 money)in the bank and I am now saving for a Bugatti. All that without spending one real world dime. So please quit the whining.

there's a lot of other people who have been able to buy the high-end supercars by just playing the game. So instead of complaining about how you cant unlock everything easily, car damage, and wait times, why dont you just play the game like it's supposed to be played and earn your way up? That's the whole point real gamers understand this but seems like a lot of people here just want everything to happen overnight. They want to download a game today and unlock everything the next day then they will start complaining about how they were able to complete the game so quickly.

Frankly I wish every game in the AppStore was freemium. Cause if that was the case, I would have saved a lot of money while the impatient types would pay for the game for me. I see nothing wrong with that!

  16. Well, you are complaining about the complainers, so you are a complainer with 1 post! No complaints! Post some facts!

Read the article. He is talking about 100% completion. Owning 3 cars is not 100% completion.

    Woah, sleath update alert!

Just opened Real Racing 3, had a quick "downloading" text for about 3 sec, you all see it? Wow, so now all the wait timers and everything have changed probably, I hope they have reduced them. Wow, tried to get a screenshot for all of you guys, maybe some of you that haven't opened it can. It was interesting. Maybe it downloads at the beginning, not in the background like we had thought before.

New car on sale I guess...
