Part 3 and possble final video in the Real Racing 3 series of my skills or lack of skills Driving on RR3 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Wowzers, Eli's thread issues got put over here about a RR3 review. Didn't expect that one. Read here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2692895#post2692895
I am going to fix one of my grind cars today, will report what it is. I hope they did some more adjustments and it is back to less than 2 hours not 20 hours as for you. Crazy wait timers...
If this is reactions now, and with all the reactions a couple of weeks ago, it's going to be hell on the forums in 4 days. Goal: Get as many happy and funny things as possible to fill the forums with
Since you finished only 2nd and 5th in two of those races, and that you spun ouut multiple times and got some heavy car Damage, your application into the Real Racing Loserz Club has been approved. Signed, Connector President of the Real Racing 3 Loserz Club
Yup, confirmed under new update by all of us. Heavily damaged cars are now wait timed 20 hours. Thank you EA, you rock! Sigh... Don't update all. So now my main car, played 2 hours, waited timed 30 hours in 5 servicings. Great...
I wonder why it hasn't updated for me. I've ran about 20 races today, so I have been playing. Does it just update randomly?
So...EA see that we think the reduced times are great, and they turbo-ramp them ...Wait...thats it.... EVERYBODY!!! CALL THESE MASSIVE WAIT TIMES GREAT, THEY WILL SEE WE LIKE THEM, AND THEY'LL PUT THE SHORT WAITING TIMES BACK!!!! I for one think these 20-hour wait times are brilliant
It probably doesn't help that there are all these foreigners playing the game. Imagine the person looking over the stats comparing those paying for IAP and not. It's possibly throwing things off so they are trying to get the percent of those paying to go up... Yet nothing they do will probably get the percent of paying customers in that region.
I hear you. I don't buy IAP at all. I mean for anything. So I miss out on a few games here and there and expansions. Like House of the Lost Mini. Looks interesting but the game can only be unlocked through IAP. So no go for me and I buy a lot of games on ios as its my primary gaming platform. I had a hard enough time going digital download after being a console and handheld gamer for ages. Not even being able to back up a license for a purchased game because it was iap only just doesn't seem worth it to me. Consumable IAP seems more like gambling than gaming where the key is making the game as addictive as possible. ... Sorry for the tangent ... For RR3 though I wonder how much of the tweaking is being done because the install stats are thrown off by those from other regions? I know gamers here won't know, it's more of a rhetorical question. It would be interesting to see the numbers (I like number games). Side note, I think it would be a pretty chaotic and drama filled time right now at the FM offices. Tweaking to try and get gamers to spend while EA breaths down their necks as well. It would possibly make for a fairly interesting work place reality show. I know I'd watch.
So I just raced in the Pro Racing GT Grand Tour at Hockenheim which has the two GTRs, the Ford GT and the Lamborghini. A racer named FFJ was racing in the Agera... Im guessing this is a hacker as its not supposed to be there, Still they only netted 6th place.
Can i update the game in the german AppStore after release if i downloaded and purchased it in the nz store?
Look at this quote I pulled up "Yep, I just did 80+ miles in an endurance race and I was having bots appear in front of me and flipping me over. I guess they wanted me to stop. Lol. It started happening around 60 miles in." And "TSM: what it really is!!! After carefully reading Firemonkeys' description of TSM, I finally understand what it really is n got really depressed after that. You see, TSM does NOT at all use your ghost data. It only uses your track time data so it doesn't matter how you drive, it will not follow your path. But I imagine it works like this: 1. You manage a time of 5 mins on a track. 2. Now I'm playing with your bot and it will maintain an average speed of x in order to end with a time of 5 mins on said track. 3. Say I bashed into your bot in a corner n send it off the track. Now I have introduce an anomaly into your bot's 5 mins track time which now will force your bot to increase it's average speed of x in order to meet the 5 mind goal. But most of the time the introduced anomaly permanently lowers the time that you achieved. Conclusion, while this system may work somewhat, Firemonkeys actually miss the whole point of multiplayer. It's not about the end times that makes multiplayer fun, it's the actual race that makes multiplayer fun, and while a bot can do its best to archive my time or your time on a giving track, without actually following our path(race lines) in my opinion it's all a pointless affair. It misses the mark" And here is what the reps say about the reality of the game. "This has to be the realist game Ive played. Tell me guys, how long does it take for you guys to do your own oil change? Has anyone replaced their own brake pads when doing a track day? Coffing up real money to race is as real as it gets. Step 1 Take your car and enter an open day at a track cost $150-$300 Carry plenty of fuel cost $200 or more for the day. Brake pads might last you the day but then you change them. Might only last you a few hot laps (not to mention your discs) let's say $300 for some descent race pads. Semi slicks all round racing the way you do in this game you will only get maybe 20 minutes out of. Cost is high for this. Anyone Brocken a real car mirror or dented a car door? Shall I go on...... If comparing to the real experience and car handling the game is great and very realistic except that you can play it for free if you are patient and a little more careful. Its as Real as it gets." ------------- Ironic, eh? CONCLUSION: read step one. They would have us spending hundreds of dollars a day, thats not a company that cares about gameplay any more and if they did, they would be more careful about the reps they hire. This explains why timers have gone up, and by the sounds of it will continue to do so unless people call it for what it is. For that alone they won't get IAP from me, because if I buy into it they will move the goalposts until it finally does cost hundreds a day at least in potential. Those quotes above aren't mine, if that's not enough then what is and there is plenty more out there.
I don't race cars on an iPhone, iPod to have the ability to change oil, fuel, brakes and tires etc and wait real time. In the real world they usually don't ask you to pay up gold coins to get the work done instantly. If I wanted to have the hassle of doing all that I would've bought a REAL CAR! Not a game for the iOS devices. This is a fantastic game that's been taken over by people too concerned with extracting the most money they can from people's wallets. Seems to me like EA ripped out Firemints heart, or Firemint sold their soul. I am pretty loyal and had supported Firemint/monkeys and bought everything they put out. Yes I am probably being over dramatic and yes I can delete if I want. There is part of me that hopes it will get better I am so disappointed
I downloaded it from the NZ store as it was there 7 hours before AU. I "purchased" it in iTunes once it was out here (aus) so it would be in my downloads history but whenever it wants to update it asks for my NZ account password. The IAP seem to all be in AU currency so I can't see there being any issues assuming it does this for you, too. I believe once it is released worldwide there is going to be a cloud save feature (I read it is currently already saving the progress but wont be fully turned on till release, can't find the post now though). Depending on how this works (is it linked to your Gamecenter account or the iTunes account you downloaded it with?) you may be able to just delete the game once it is out in your local store, re-download it from said store and resume from the cloud save. TL;DR: you can't just update over the NZ version but it probably doesn't matter and there should be ways around it.
You must delete the game,in order to update/use it from the AUS store. P.S.Backup your save before deleting.
How do i get "training wheel loose" achievement? I got "really racing" achievement. I turn off all assist but can get The wheel loose achievement. Anyone here care to helps? Thanks =)
