Absolutely. For 99cents, there is no question about it. For the original price it's worth it. It is still the best simulation racer on iOS today. I think 4s users will get the majority of the effects that 5 will have. Maybe not all because the 5 is a bit of a graphics beast but I know Firemonkeys are working on it hard and I can't see them excluding the 4s from much. They are very good at optimising a game for the platform so whatever effects the 4s is capable of running, it will do with RR3. Either way I would still recommend getting this. It was a day one purchase for me and later bought the iPad version as well. It's never left any device in nearly two years and has gotten more play throughs than any other game that I have. The different difficulty levels do make a difference to the play through.
Sorry, I should have got back to you quicker. You don't have to win every race but you do have to complete every championship. Top three in each championship should get it. Again, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Feel free to pm me next time and i'll answer faster, as I don't always get back to threads quickly.
You gotta have this game. Grab it, and enjoy it before the third series comes out. It'll make the 3rd even better trust me. Amazing game.
I can't quite replicate what you're saying there. I have followed your settings and while it does downshift automatically, I still have control over the steering and brakes. There does seem to some slight element of steering assist but every time I don't steer on the bends, I just crash. I've tried about ten times with different variations of settings and difficulty levels and I still have steering control on those bends. Sorry, can't help out with that one.
This title hasn't left my device since I installed it at launch. It's the very best thing, racing sim wise on iOS. Off-topic, I really hope Firemonkeys doesn't come with some "Rear view mirrors is only possible on iPhone 5." Hell, Ridge Racer was doing rear view 20 years ago.
I just turn all assists off. Remember to brake on the turns. Whether that singles out your problem or not, your problem is solved.
On my iPhone 4 (not S) I've had both RR1 and RR2 for a long time and play both. If you don't have RR2 already, get it, especially if you don't have the latest hardware. I'm sure 3 will play fine but at times you may prefer the quicker launch and loading the smaller app is likely to provide (can't say for sure - haven't played 3 yet!). I hope the sale means 3 is out this week!
It won't. Sorry. We will get more info in the next couple of weeks though. Need for speed most wanted will be launched first at the end of the month. (Same developer, you probably knew that anyway but some readers might not) RR3 will be December more than likely. Earlier than that would be great but unlikely.
Thanx for info. Will get NFS for sure. I like the original on ios and wish it had been updated to support multitasking. Hmm tho, why a sale now?
RR3 looks great - I love that you can see out of the mirrors. I expect a late November/early December release.
I hope there's a pit lane/pit stop with dudes you have to pay cash via IAP to fix your tires in the middle of a long race.
I hope there are some cute hottie groupies in the stands... Kind of like Emily from the Bachelorette.
I think there is a night race. I remember reading somewhere about the light of the headlights at night. I could be wrong about that but I do remember thinking at the time that night race would be very cool. If anybody can pull that off on iOS, the people from Firemonkeys can, so here's hoping, because it would be very cool. And even with the third one coming, it's going to be very difficult to remove this one to make room for the new one. It really is amazing that even after nearly two years on release that this game looks and plays so well. Now that I think of it, one of the time trial events in career is at night in this one, but the track is very brightly lit up.
Why is this game so pathetic? I am first place driving in a straight line with finger on gas pedal with the fastest car... Next thing I see is cars that should be behind me going past me... All this happens even while I am driving top speed with smooth driving. Ridiculous game.
No there isn't a night race, more like an evening race and the headlights don't really act as spotlight. Probably due to technical limitation and hopefully solved for RR3, at least when played on iPhone 5 and iPad 4.
That's more or less what I meant by the track being brightly lit. The environment and sky is night time impression but it lacks the headlights showing up on the ground. Considering it was two years ago, those kind of effects probably were not possible yet on the devices available. But looking at something like, say, Forgotten memories and the flashlight effects, I'm going to assume it can be done now and that we should see it in the third instalment. I don't think you'll find many people to agree with that assessment. It is a racing simulator and the ai in the game wants to win as much as you do. It's not quite as simple as getting to the front and just winning. You probably need a better or upgraded car for particular races. Some cars do have higher top speeds than others and if your opponents have a faster car, they will overtake you. And there are particular racing lines on the tracks that are quicker. But, a pathetic game this is absolutely not. It's still the best racing game on iOS full stop.
I have the best car maxed with upgrades. Driving straight and players are able to pass me in multiplayer. I see players also driving faster than me while they are driving on grass for 5 secs. Ridiculous...
