I wonder if new cars are going to be added to this game at all? I really want some exotics in this game. If they already have VW on board, the VW Group includes Lambos, Bugattis, Audis, and more, so I'd love to see them in the game!
Em sorry to drop a Phoenix Down on a fainted thread but I'm trying to take advantage of the recent sale (5.99 AUS) to get this game, but I need some answers: 1. How's the sense of speed in this game? Preferably compared to Asphalt 6, Fastlane and Burnout Paradise (PC, PS3, XBOX360). 2. Can someone describe how the game plays on extremes of arcade and sim settings? 3. Will the lite version of Real Racing (RR GTI) give accurate/similar impressions of RR2?
@gunxsword: 1. It's great if you have an iPhone 4. Have yet to try it on my 3G but I heard it runs best on iPad 2. To me it still gives the best sense of speed apart from NFS Undercover. NFSU might have a great sense of speed as there are heaps of actions with cars running from the other side or really slow cars acting as obstacles. RR2 is great as there are all these other cars as well. I enjoyed Fastlane when it came out but it's really old and boring now. RR2 is better in almost every way. Don't have burnout paradise so won't comment. 2. Are you asking if it's an arcade or sim racer? If I get your question right, then it's certainly on the sim end of iOS racers. Asphalt 6, NFS: HP, Fast Five= arcade. RR2 and that GT-rip off by gameloft = sim. 3. Not it won't. It's the lite version of RR1, not RR2.
Does anyone know how to hide the position number and names above other racers? I remember there was a toggle to turn it off but couldn't find it since updating to the latest version?
2. Em no, I'm asking how the game will play if I tweak the settings to either extreme of the spectrum. Like all 'assist' (is that the term?) options on (as arcade as the game gets) and all assist options off (supposingly turns the game into a sim right?) 3. Ok, but linking this to question 2, will RR1 at least give me a decent impressions on the control features of RR2? Honest and helpful as always Oh well, I tend to be worn out between late afternoon and before nightfall (slower reaction) so I guess this game will be perfect for that time period (unlike Asphalt/Fastlane)
Real Racing 2 Crashes all the time Anyone else experiencing the program crashing on startup? I have an itouch 4th gen with 64 gig. When I launch the app, I get to the point where the race will start (you see the cars going round the track), but before I actually an in the car, it crashes to the main ipod icon screen. This happens 9 out of ten times that I launch the app. I have had maybe 3 successful races since I got the app, so it does work occasionally. Any idea what's up? By the way, my device is NOT jailbroken.
Umm...possibly. I have RR2 and A6 and prefer NFSU and Hot Pursuit to A6. This is just personal preference and I would expect a 50/50 split on this. RR2 is awesome - just wish they would tweak the difficulty (Easy is fine, Med is too hard IMHO).
I don't know what you were expecting when you play a sim racer after an arcade racer. Not only is my device older than yours (iTouch 2nd) and smaller (8 gigs), it's also jailbroken, and the game still works perfectly, so I'd assume restarting the device should work.
Truth to be told, I'm liking RR2 MUCH more than A6. I'm not buying any Gameloft racers anymore... I'm get deja vu from looking at the game icons. RR2 really tries to break the mold for me and the racing experience is much better for me: competitive AI, smooth controls, detailed, realistic car and tracks plus highly polished gameplay. RR2 just succeeds as the greater sum of its parts.
You know, there's kind of a reason why almost everyone here agrees that RR2 is the best racer in the App Store.
Yes, but if toggle it off, everything disappears, including my position, speed, etc. As far as I remember, there were two toggles: one for the HUD and the other for opponents' position number.
Did they fix the difficulty settings? It seems impossible to race first position playing with the medium mode...
