Haha tad late Anyway, I read a post about this game that sheds seconds off your lap time for mistakes. So despite what position you are, you could still lose... I don't like the idea of this! Me being a not very patient person So please tell me this is only in hard mode?
Thinking about picking this up with sale... but the car list seems so short :\ Can anyone tell me if Firemint ever commented on whether they will expand the roster with additional car models/manufacturers??
Which game would you say gives you the most bang for your buck, Real Racing 1 for 2 dollars or Real Racing 2 for 5 dollars? I'm only going to get one. : )
I always play rr1 on THE iPad so was kinda waiting for à rr2 iPad version but for for this price i'll gladly play on 2x
To note, RR1 is much more grippy and a little more arcade like compared to RR2 which has much lower grip on cars, slower acceleration and is much more frustrating.
Can u do anything to ur cars or is it straight stock cars vs stock cars? and whats career mode like if one?
Wtf? Yeah, let's crash into the wall at 200 MPH and still somehow maintain 1st place position. Let's go off-track and slide into the gravel, drive back onto the asphalt, and still somehow be 1st. What kind of question is this... It works perfectly on a 1st gen. That should speak volumes. For certain cars, you can respray its colors and improve its stats. Career mode is HUGE and is exceptional.
The problem is the penalty you recieve for mistakes often times has nothing to do with losing any speed. When you spin your tires just a little coming out of turn, you usually lose very little speed in the process. I'm not even talking out-of-control, slamming into a wall. I'm saying you spin your wheels very slightly, it does not effect your speed, or interupt your racing line, and you will still lose 2 or 3 positions on the track. It's as if the car behind you just hit the NOS button, except there is no NOS. This "penalty" is deducted automatically, even if, physics-wise, the penalty itself makes no tangible sense. Conversely, you can slow down significantly going into turns, over-brake and drive very cautiously, and finish with a better track position then if you clearly drove a faster lap, but spun your tires a few times during the course of that lap. This occurs on medium difficulty. Essentially, this game has no medium difficulty. Medium is hard and hard is extra hard. There is no medium. This game is for hardcore gamers. If you are a casual gamer who gets easily frustrated and is unwilling to dedicate yourself to overcoming a rather steep learning curve, then buy GT:Motor Academy instead. I've been waiting for an update, although certainly no holding my breath, expecting that one will come. It would be nice if it happened. Until then, I've long since deleted this game from off of my iPhone.
It's rather grainy, has occasional hiccups and nowhere as smooth as RR1 on 3rd gen touch. You can read the early pages of this thread or even Appstore reviews complaining about this. Some wish they could trade the grainy 'details' for smoother framerate. Not really unless you absolutely love love love love it to death. It's more or less the same with some tweaks, most noticeably to looser controls and AI.
bit confused reviews seem good after latest update and most say framerate is great and smooth now i dont know if i should buy
I was one of the complainers. Now RR2 is the only racer I consistently play and always choose it over RR1. I'm playing on a 3GS. Just buy it. I have no regrets having bought at full price and now it's on sale.
