I'd definitely still recommend this game over RR1 simply because it's content is deeper and more varied. Besides, nothing gets more intense in the App Store than 16-player races. Most of my gripes are very minor and aren't really frustrating unless you're really serious about racing anyways (although this isn't a true simulation, it's more like a stripped-down-simulation-made-more-accessible-for-the-masses).
RR1 was good but i love RR2 alot more. sure there are bugs but none that really affect me much at all, and there is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more to love then to hate, so all in all, this is my favorite racing game on ios.
If licensed cars is what you are looking for, then GT Racing: Motor Academy is what you want. The racing feeling and actual handling is bounds and miles and leagues better in Real Racing 2, but RR2's career mode is actually very bare-bones, short and limited in comparison to GT Racing's 100 licensed cars, advanced customization possibilities, hundreds of events, and 20+ career mode hours.
It's not necessarily that I want a ton of licensed cars, but more of me wanting one of the top games on the App Store that I don't have yet. Grr...maybe I'll just take the plunge and treat myself to it since it's my birthday!
Agreed. If you know the tracks and knows how the AI behaves, it is not that hard. The physics problem you described earlier appears in RR1 as well, and I bet it was worse. My problems with GTRMA, as I mentioned elsewhere, not the graphics, are that 1) the tracks are not all fun, 2) too many "modes", and 3) some later races rely too much on luck than skills.
1995 McLaren F1 GTR Quick question .... how do you get/unlock the 1995 McLaren F1 GTR ? It's seems to be most peoples weapon-of-choice online and this is the only view i see of it ...
Control Method E and iPad version I finished the entire career using the E method, getting McLaren GTR at the end. I encountered the same problem at first, running straight into walls after letting go of the brake pedal. Then I found out that sometimes, you just have to tap the left or right arrow one more time after you let go of the brake. So I basically tap my way through the entire corners. Sometimes, the game doesn't recognize that you have two fingers on the screen, one to brake and one to turn. My earlier solution was brake to slow enough to take each corner without braking after the apex. But later as I progressed, the game seemed to recognize that I have two fingers on the screen. On a few occasion, my thumb is not on the arrow when I try to turn, I thought it was (on the arrow), but it's sort of 'half on the arrow, half off the screen. After a while, I got used to it. But my complaint is that the brake pedal is so small, sometimes I found myself turning instead of braking. The developers should make the brake pedal wider. There must be more tracks and cars available. Now that I've finished the career, it's getting boring. And, to an extent, braking is terrible for most of the cars. The Z4 GT has poor brakes for a car that can go over 200 MPH. By the way, if the developer is reading this, you should make the iPad version soonest, I also play this on my iPad (x2 size) and found that I can drive much smoother (and get quicker lap times) because I can see the apex more clearly.
Very useful information. My thanks! This will probably make it much easier for me to enjoy the game. On-screen button issues do not help, especially when the digital driver in questions (me) is crash-prone enough on his own And yeah, wider brake pedal. GT Racing: Motor Academy has got it down right, with two brake pedals in both bottom corners, beneath the touch-sensitive left and right steering areas. This also saves the player a few milliseconds and millimeters when reaching the brakes, something that can actually make a huge difference in a game this fast.
is it worth it? I tend to like arcade racers more than simulation racers.....so i need an opinion from someone who likes arcade races better than simulations
Yeees!! According to an email from Firemint this sale will last until Feb 14. Real Racing 1 is also on sale for $1.99.
I like NFS better than Forza because of how long Forza's races are (360). If you like sims even a tiny bit, you'll be more than satisfied.
