I think that you think that I want to just give people the best car right off the bat for multiplayer? No idea how you would glean that from what I wrote. Read again. What is the big opposition to detecting the car and matching the player to races that contain vehicles with similar capabilities, anyway? This seems like a no-brainer. Even if the exact method is disagreed upon, I can see no reasons why a person with a decent grasp on logic should disagree with the concept.
I believe that part of the reason the F1 was made inaccessible to new players is that its grip is too low for most iOS gamers and critics until several hours of practice have been invested, especially if they turn off the assists at the get-go. If the F1 had been available too early in Campaign mode, there might have been more critical generalizations about Real Racing 2 having slippery controls (after all, even critics probably have trouble admitting that an advanced vehicle in a mobile game may require console-level experience or practice to master). One indication of this being the case can be seen early in this thread, when some early acquirers of the F1 posted about it being nothing special - even claiming other cars were better. Just as in PGR3's launch week, the F1's spun out a lot during online matches until dedicated players memorized the tracks and got accustomed to the much lower grip. Recently I've noticed that, although F1 drivers seem to win more, they also tend to have more DNF results as well. So maybe that's where the solution lies - in some type of online ranking system that factors in DNF statistics, so that the risk-reward equation for the low-grip vehicles is better balanced.
Look folks the solution is clear; F1s need to be in a class of their own. Why should I be forced to use one particular car to win a damn race ALL THE TIME? Doesn't that defeat the whole 30 different cars sales point? On top of that, it just wouldn't be any fun so why bother! At the end, it doesn't even matter that f1s have bad handling, they recover very fast and catch up with you quick if you had passed them, so the whole argument that you can beat an f1 with ANY CAR if your good at corners is none-sense. Pure and simple. In fact the only way to beat an f1 is if the player wipes out at every turn, but if they only mess up in say 1/3 of turns, they will eventually catch up with you by the final lap and pass you. Amen!
How would know that the F1 would give you an unfair advantage, unless you've personally experienced that to be the case? Have you found that none except the other F1s beat you when you choose that car? Also, no one claimed that the F1 can be beaten with "ANY CAR." It can, however, be beaten by a better player driving a somewhat lesser car with better grip, such as the top Corvette, especially in multi-lap races on complex tracks like Notting Forest. The F1's will win almost every time on King's Speedway, but that track isn't very fun anyway.
I can take 95% of the online F1 drivers with the volvo by the way. Anything around 115P and above can compete with F1s with bad drivers. I really enjoy using the F1 to get top leaderboard times but racing it online is a little easy. I have no qualms of driving it if faced against better drivers in the F1 as well. I really want them to implement a buddy system so i can race against some of the top 10 leaderboard time trial ppl.
I'm one who finds the F1 very difficult to drive - I do better with cars with more grip. It is down to me I know - not the car (or game)'s fault.
Hmm, whenever I try to connect to online multiplayer it says: "Could not connect to game server. Server full." Is anyone else getting this? If so, have you been able to fix this? Or, does anyone know if it is the server's problem or just my app. I don't really trust the "server full" part...
Usually when it says servers full it means that the limited amount of racers are in the race (16). You just need to wait till the next race.
I've been trying to get into a game for the last 12 hours so yes, something is wrong and it would have been nice of firemint to at least let us know what's happening and when it'll get back to normal. To me it seems like they just got rid of 90% of their servers and the remaining ones can't handle the load.
After seeing your updated one-star review claiming servers are constantly full, I hit the multiplayer button for the first time in days just to see whether you and others were exaggerating, but sure enough, the full-server message appeared. The same was true a few seconds, a few minutes, and a while later. So indeed, it's reasonable to conclude that multiplayer portion of Real Racing 2 is apparently broken at the moment. They should fix that.
Hi all, Very sorry for the inconvenience! Yes, there were some temporary Real Racing 2 multiplayer server issues over the past couple of days. These should mostly now be fixed, though we are still making improvements. Sorry for the delayed response, I've been away - the dev team have still been working in my absence though. Please let us know if you're still experiencing the full server problems at our support site.
just got the game. what do i need to know before i start? best control method? advice on multiplayer??
It depends on how you want to play. First of all, no matter what control method you use, turn off steer assist. There are tons of control options, so you should choose what's best for you.
does this game have 16 player multiplayer on ipod touch 2g. Sorry this has probably been asked but i don't wont to look through a bunch of pages.
