Thanks for the tips! Did the above earlier this morning -- in real car! No crash, no scratch, nobody got hurt...and I was not drinking...
One difference I think I noticed between RR1 and 2 is in RR2 setting the brake auto assist to 100% will NOT guarantee you will not skid out on turns. If you have auto-accelerate on, there will be turns you will have to brake for even with the brake assist cranked up. Different feel if you switch off auto-accelerate and have the option to let off the gas before a turn.
I'm so glad you brought this up. So many people do not do this. Especially in Real Racing 2, when many of the maps end with a monster turn looping back into the home straight. On those turns, the AI generally takes a slow/wider than needed approach. EDIT: Okay, so I just encountered something really weird. I was hugging the wall on a straight and accidentally made contact with the wall. But my car reacts as if I just ran into an incoming 100MPH car and I turn circles and lose complete control. Trying to duplicate this unusual event before I come storming into this thread, I couldn't do it. Even if I completely tilted right to hit the wall much harder than my unusual experience, my car would simply maintain/lose speed as what normally should happen. Pretty weird :\
I don't think there was enough time to make changes like that, we concentrated on the critical bug fixes.
Why do the graphics look slightly different after the update? (Is it just me or does the game look "different" (idk how to describe it) after the update) I think it's just me. Maybe I changed the brightness or I am racing on a different track.
I tried again twice and just couldn't do it again. It was very odd. Most likely a brightness change in the settings. You will be surprised how much better/worse a game looks depending on the brightness.
So will there be any big updates in the coming moths? Like adding more tracks or cars or improving physics or adding drafting, etc.? Or is the structure of the game basically final?
A few thoughts, now that I know the Firemint team is following the thread: First, the game rocks. I've been absolutely addicted to it for the past few days and I feel my money was very well spent. None of my usual buyer's remorse to be found. So having said that, if you guys could find a way to add manual shifting that jives with control layout B it would make my week. Seriously. So my biggest peeve with the game is actually the car damage. I mean, it was really cool the first few times, following some awesomely-modeled car and seeing their back bumper hanging off and flapping in the wind. But now it's just annoying to watch my replay with a missing front bumper (yeah, I know, drive better and that won't happen, sue me). The fact that there's no damage besides bumpers and the damage system is completely superficial actually begins to take away from the game. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're going to do car damage, do it all the way. I don't want to be able to crash into a solid wall going 195 and then keep racing a full capacity. Knock me out of the tournament.
A note on car damage... I appreciate Firemint's effort at making one of the realest racing sims in the store even realer, but just having a bumper dangling out after you have to hit the car like 100000 times just isn't worth it. I really wish instead of adding in car damage, that Firemint had licensed more cars. Car damage is more and more becoming a negative than a positive for me, considering what could have been put in instead of the car damage...
Guys my friend just finished all the events, got all the cars and achievements in the game, but somehow his profile page still says 95% completion. Did he miss something?
Please see this page for information on that: http://getsatisfaction.com/firemint/topics/95_completion
Wow I didn't expect a reply so quick, thanks Sam. Looks like I totally missed this thread when I searched Get Satisfaction, I think he'll get some sleep now.
Actually, yeah, since they're investigating it. There have only been two people with "legit" copies experiencing the texture bug, so this would be nice verification. But do one better, in addition to iTunes receipt (feel free to white out your address/credit card and part of email address/name, but leave everything else including part of email address/name and order #), and do the following: 1. Open iTunes 2. On the left, click "Apps" 3. Right-click on Real Racing 2 app under "iPhone and iPod Touch Apps" 4. Click "Get Info" 5. Verify you are under the "Summary" tab 6. Take screenshot 7. Does firemint at all plans to put the online play into some sort of division? I know in their update they make it so likely cars are match but I'm sick of these McLaren F1 GTR beating my Corvet C6R every time. What is not fair is the fact that the game always starts them in front and I can never catch up no matter how flawless I take every corner. It's beginning to be bothersome knowing I can never win a race not because I suck but simply because it's never a fair match. Can someone list the specks of the McLaren F1 since I only see the MP4-12C in my car market. Even if I unlock and purchase that car, I still won't like being forced to drive a certain car in order to win a few races. Thanks
