game is awesome ... but/...... why AI car do not drop speed when they off from track ( grass, etc )? they even accelerating outside a track!!!11 also when using control method E simultaneous use of brakes and changing direction, entails too loose of control completely.
Ok seriously firemint. I hate to be negative but as I play RR2 more, it's begining to seem like it has nothing to do with RR1. My biggest grip right now is how SLOW, SLOW SLOW AND SLOW this game feels compare to real racing 1. Matter of fact, it's getting boring because of it. What happend to the frenzy driving of the AI? The sense of speed that I felt in ever corner? The battles between the AI and the I to become first? This game DOESN'T have any of that. The game chugs and chokes on my iPhone 4, frame rate dropping consistently which makes it even slower. I played it and RR1 back to back just to make sure it wasn't my imagination and IT'S NOT. If you made the game this slow intentionally in order to create your 16 player online deal than you have failed cause people loved RR1 for the speed and adrenaline. RR2 lacks both and it really breaks my heart. 60MPH in RR1 = 120MPH in RR2 Seems like developers these days always find a way to ruined a good formula. With a $2 mil budget, no one on your team saw it important to keep the speed of the game the same? Unfreaking believable.
Completely disagree with the comment above. Game called REAL Racing, so, it should look like real. If you want blazing speeds, please, play NFS.
I will not call you a moron. I will be nice. Please next time use your critical thinking skills when you read a post of mines. RR2 runs just as slow on my iPhone 4 as RR1 runs on my little brother's iPhone 3g. That is the point I've been making here. Don't take my word for it, simply fire up RR1 start a race for 30 seconds than go to RR2 and do the same thing, the difference in how smooth and fast RR1 runs compares to RR2 is night and day. I suppose that is what happens when a developer wants to support ever single iOS device. They purposely made the game slower so that older devices would have no problem running it. Also, in the real world racing, a 1 second drift doesn't make 6 cars pass you like it does in this game. It's freaking ridiculous that they expect you to never make a tiny drift by accident. How can my speed drop SO MUCH BY a one second drift?? That is not reality. RR1 had the drift penalty right. If you drift for too long when an AI was close to you, they passed you. But in RR2, the AI could be a mile away behind, you accidentally drift for one second while taking a corner, before you can blink, 6 cars pass you. NOT REAL!
I don't understand how this game can run slow on your i4 if it runs fast enough on touch 4..... maybe u should try to close few 'heavy' apps before launching RR2? and you mentioned about this.... so, express your thoughts more precise...
This is a really amazing game so far. I feel kinda bad to complain but there are a couple of things that could be fixed/improved to make the game better. 1. When you hit an AI car nothing happens to them, they stay in the same direction, maintain the same speed, and no blow out or awesome flip like in the trailer. Yet you lose most of your speed. Which is a little annoying becuase it feels like the AI is all scripted and the paths and speed is all pre-determined and that you can't change the outcome of the race. 2. Not much sense of speed. I wouldn't say it makes it boring but you don't really feel the power. Maybe it's becuase there's no sharp turns? I enjoyed the sharp turns in the first one, i always loved doing those really hard right's and drifting, which comes to the last complaint. 3. Drifting is gone . If you drift you go down from where ever you are to 20-30 miles an hour. I always loved drifting with that beautiful screech sound on the round with smoke flying with burning tire tracks. Now there's no good spots on the tracks to drift and you basically lose a race if you try drifting. Thanks.
My sentiments exactly. RR2 is a completely different game. It's not RR1 with real cars and more locales as we had hoped. I'm so dissapointed. Especially at the drift factor; why take away a really fun aspect of RR1?
pay no attention to this OllieWollie fanboy. Someone would have to be blind to not notice how rediculously fast the AI's past you if you nearly drift for even half a second. I really hope more people will voice this so that firemint can do something about. This sequel should have been a piece of cake for them... Just take RR1 as is, add more maps, add real cars, a better career mode and you'd get a great RR2. But for whatever reason, they saw it fit to mess with the formula that made RR1 the best racing game in the app store. From RR1, If you take away the speed, the hard turns, the bumping and grinding, the drifting... Sadly you end up with RR2. I feel like crying!
What I meant by get your facts straight is that how does he/her know what speed you drift at in real life or that there is only one build (False, there is 2 with 2 sub builds). I am not disagreeing that there is a problem with the drift in the game.
Some gameplay qualities needing improvement in addition to more exotic cars (or more cars in general): 1. There are times in the race where the game lags a bit on my 2nd gen Touch. Really ruins a race, but happens rarely. When it does though, it totally screws up my run. 2. As the above mentioned, drifting makes you slow down wayy too much. 3. As the above mentioned, it seems the AI runs at a predetermined course and speed. Whenever they bump you, or even you bump them, you lose speed while they don't seem to as much. But minor complaints, great game nevertheless.
Great game. The best racing game so far IMO. And about the drifting, I really don't mind. This isn't an arcade racing game and if you try and drift in this game then it will slow you down, just like in real life. It's quicker to brake and corner properly.
I think the games pretty great and I don't seem to be having the texture problem some others are. One bad point is I did try an online race there and it didn't seem to work to well racing along then suddenly stationary cars from out of nowhere just sitting in the middle of the track and then the same cars blaring past me at about 1000mph (guess it's lag but my connections usually got great pings) but maybe the servers are just kind of crazy at the minute. What I got when I tried to see the texture bug I was also able to zoom around the car and view it in perfect detail.
