I sit down during lunch time and run a few laps, fire up the RR1 to see for comparison. I have an iPod Touch 4 32GB RAM. I have only tried VW Golf GTI on both and I do not notice any weight transfer during braking on both (cockpit view exclusively), I guess if I am on a FR or MR car, the effect will be more pronounced (GPL experiences). Some how I understand what some of you are saying: it is not the FPS, but the sense of speed is some how lacking in RR2. Even at a "low" speed of 150 km/hr, I notice the objects fly past me in RR1 but not quite so in RR2. To me, sense of speed is almost everything and RR2 is just within tolerable limit, I would say this does not kill the game but this is room for improvement. No problem with messed texture here as far as I can find.
RR has bland maps and 8 cars. Don't get me wrong, it was great for its time. RR2 is a HUGE +1 from the first. By far.
After experiencing at least a dozen crashes, failure to access leaderboards, "failure to authenticate" time trial youtube upload, multiplayer glitches, and now loss of audio, I regret buying this title. Even if the crashes are due to lower ram in the iPod Touch 4, there's no such excuse for a game with this much hype. Firemint should have had to get it working up to a higher standard before it was approved, since this will surely be promoted in a way that almost makes it seem like an in-house Apple title to iPod Touch owners.
Are you sure that you haven't got a pirated version of the game or something? It runs flawlessly on my gen 4 iPod touch, no crashes, no loss of sound, no graphics glitches. Maybe you need to reboot your device or unplug it from your computer or something. This game is so much fun to play ... the online multiplayer is going to be mayhem once everyone has race cars. Great job Firemint!
I'm very sorry to hear about these experiences, we haven't had any crash reports yet - please visit our support site and report any bugs you come across: http://www.firemint.com/support. We'd appreciate any help in tracking down the cause of any issues, and we're very sorry for any inconvenience.
Just spent the last hour and a half playing it on my iPhone 4. After turning off the assist's and adjusting to the controls I've really began to enjoy this game. The graphics are very good and so far no texture issues. I'm just barely getting into it, but so far it is very good. Tough but fair difficulty imo.
Skip to around 7 min for multiplayer. Sorry about the out of focus read the discription Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Grub, restart your device. Countless people have played without problems on even 1st and 2nd gens, so it's not the game.
I really like this game. It's even more challenging than the first one which is a plus of course. The graphics are absolutely stunning and I like the interior of the car as well. The game play is pretty nice. I'm still doing the single player so I don't know about multiplayer but I gotta say, really well done on this game. Oh and when I saw that the bumper fell out of my Golf GTI, I thought that was pretty funny
Awesome Firemint! Extremely polished game, as shown through the professional graphics, and it is quite challenging. This game requires some skill, and as you go through the game, you learn techniques, tactics and timing. Highly detailed- I just saw through my window that another damage implemented (other than the bumpers) is the left mirror. Pure racing awesomeness Excellent, and well worth the price!
Thanks! Was waiting for the AppSpy review to show up. Wow... the graphics look really fantastic in that video.
Ya know, I'm actually playing the game as I type this and I still can't believe the graphics look how they do. I'm flabberjngled.
if anyone says RR2 is not the best iPhone racing game yet I'd really like to know why there's nothing that can beat this right now
The graphics seem as good as Gran Turismo for PSP. Does anyone else have that impression? I have a pal who's an iPhone gaming hater, always pointing to his PSP's graphics. I had fun rubbing his nose in Infinity Blade, looks like this one's also a match for his much hyped Gran Turismo Portable

GT5 for the PSP looks really bad in my opinion... everything looks so grainy. Check this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmf7HV_W7Jw RR2 makes GT5 look like it was made 5 years ago (purely from a visually perspective though). Having that said... I would love to have back mirrors in RR2.
