Couldn't agree more. I am actually hoping that the prices of games in the app store reach $20-$30 because games are that high of quality. Real Racing is easily worth that type of pricing and Firemint deserves to make as much as possible.

I would predict that with the newer "next-gen" hardware in place after this holliday season with 3GS plus all of the new iTouch users we will start seeing more exclusive "next-gen" titles as well as separate versions of some games, but, I could be wrong. This along with an increase in prices will bring more big name devs jumping in. How can they not? That report on the front page from the other day says that right now the app store is doing 2.5 billion in sales! And as more big name devs come in to help solidify these devices as THE portable gaming system they will help bring that many more people to all the small/indie developers in the app store, which as some have stated is a win-win.

I think we can all agree that in the near future there is room in the app store for all types of games from both small and large devs at prices of $1-$30 or even more.

As I have stated before, this is hands down the best game available in the app store!

$20-$30 games? Really? It'll never happen, and don't encourage it. It would only be the downfall of the app store. There just aren't enough hardcore gamers like that out there. Personally I buy all the high priced games such as Real Racing but $20-$30? That's a little out of hand. Plus it's a mobile device, and if that day ever does come it won't be anytime soon. The PSP, ipod/iphone, and Zune HD are about to be duking it out this upcoming year so we'll see how that plays out. Most likely they'll be fighting to keep their prices down, people will buy what's cheaper, not what's more expensive. $20-30 is a possibility, but it's gonna take years to work it's way up to that point.

Yup $7 and it doesn't say sale. I'm hoping that with games like real racing and modern combat and ngmocos fps more hardcore gamers will be attracted to the app store and thus spring up much more high quality games. But 20$-30$ is still pushing it a little. But I hope $10 to be a standard within a few months

It's only for the weekend. However, I would guess that the sale will be "extended."

It's £4.99. $9.99 games are £5.99 in the UK so it can't be.

Nobody will want to buy the game after a sale, so I think they will drop the price again some time later. It happens very often.

while i understand the point (= rewarding the developpers for their good work), i cannot agree with the push you guys make, like we should all pay 10$ no matter what.

the appstore is a digital distribution. like steam, impulse, etc. check the prices there. how can you expect, for example, Real Racing to sell for 7.99€ when GRID goes for 19.99€ ? it was even reduced to 9.99€ a few ago and you can find a retail copy of GRID for ridiculously low prices in retail stores anyways, even cheaper than digital stores... you can also find Gran turismo prologue on PS3 for really, really cheap prices in retail stores.

Gran turismo PSP is about to get released and it's gonna be so much better than Real Racing. The price here at the beginning will be 35€ then by christmas you can find it for 10€. it's also free if you buy the new PSP Go, while RR wasn't free if you bought a 3GS.

i've never bought an iphone game for 7.99€, but i bought many up to 5.49€ and the last was RR. imo, there are plenty of good home console (and i include xbla/PSN here too)/PC games available for 8€ to buy before any iphone games of this price.

also, i don't know what's so wrong with low price games. look at eliss : it's 2.99€ and you can't find anything equivalent and better on any other platform. but there are better racing games than RR on other platforms. i'd have prefered to pay eliss 5.45€ and RR 2.99€ then. beside i'll always play eliss and some fresh lil casual games playable in the train/bus rather than the so-called gamers premium games.

last note, i bashed RR in this post, but don't get me wrong : it's good and shouldn't be missed if racing is your thing and you don't have a PSP. what i say is : yay for the low prices.
