I had to reinstall OS this morning, and after installing iTunes, when I clicked "check for available downloads", it says "all purchases have been downloaded for this account", when clearly that's not the case; none of the stuff I got in iTunes in this account are in the applications tab or anywhere on my computer. Does anyone know how to get all the apps back?
Edit: All my purchases/free downloads are still listed in "view my account" -> "purchase history".

You could try going and clicking on each app individually I guess, that probably would take a while though.

did you try syncing your idevice and "transfer all purchases"?

That would only transfer the stuff on my iPhone into iTunes right?
Most of the stuff I bought/downloaded are not on my iPhone though.

Wow I just found out that not only is there no option to redownload everything you bought, you can't even re-purchase the app for free... WTF? I just tried it with a $0.99 app I bought before, and it gets charged AGAIN, even though it's in my purchase history...

Yup Apple sure wants to promote anti-piracy with this kind of crap.
Guys never delete the app in your mobile applications folder if you don't want to pay for it again... otherwise expect to download it elsewhere.

It is right. It now says I have a $0.99 balance in my account.
    Completely screwed up, iTunes 9.0.3.

Edit: Lol now it says if I try to sync applications/music/movies/etc, everything on my iPhone will be replaced by the ones in my library, which is nearly empty... is 9.0.3 supposed to be this unusable? o_O

It's not supposed to charge you again, if you definitely bought that exact app before then I'd email Apple and get a refund.

I checked my purchase history for that app, then I went to the app's page and clicked "buy", then it asked me if I wanted to buy it and it'll get charged to my credit card etc, so I clicked "yes" thinking that it won't get charged again, but I was wrong, it did.
I suppose I could write for a refund, but this is just stupid to start with. If it's in purchase history, then there should be a button to redownload everything. I wasted an hour of my time trying to get back everything I got before, and that was completely unnecessary...

Yeah it's stupid, but surely if you didn't have them on your device anyway then you don't need them all right now? You could just get them all separately when you decide you want them again... if it lets you download without paying.

Yep I checked it was the same account too.
It was a $0.99, no biggie, but now I'm just scared to download the other purchases lol.
Is it supposed to display the "are you sure you want to purchase this app - it will be charged to your credit card" warning if you already purchased it before?

I'm not trying to make you feel sad, so I don't know how much of a "Fail" my post was. I just like messing with you because of your ridiculous superiority complex.
