  1. Rayman I was the only one I had so I've been waiting for an iPhone port for a while, and I can't seem to get it copied to psx4iphone, so it's been a long wait... It's a great game though. Rayman II should come next so I can see what I missed :p

There is some large irony in the fact that GameLoft is apparently developing an actual Rayman game whilst Ubisoft wastes their time making the god-awful Rabbid franchise.

  3. Well at least someone's making good Rayman games.

My guess is that it's being made by Ubisoft and released by Gameloft (like BiA2).

BiA 2 is developed and published by Gameloft.

I stand corrected. Just curious: what was Gearbox's involvement, if any?

Off topic of Rayman but gearbox has the ownership rights to the bia name. I'm stoked to have Rayman on the go.

    Doing nothing of importance.

Nahh... I want Rayman 1. Better game, even though it was the only one in 2D. It was definetly the best Rayman game I've played.

I can't say I'd be disappointed if it was Rayman 2 though. Great game as well.

  15. I've got a pretty good hunch that it's Rayman 1, since the two copyright dates in the teaser video were 1995, and 2010. 1995 is the year that the first Rayman came out so that's where my educated guess comes from. May be wrong though.

Good point. They also ported Earthworm Jim, which seems to have come out around the same time, and is the same type of game. Just not as good as Rayman.

  17. WORD! Rayman was awesome. It was one of my favorite games when all I had was a PS1 and a SNES (Super Mario Bros. came first :p). There was just this one level I couldn't get past. Maybe I'll get past it on my iPod :D I hope they start doing sequels once they get all the originals out of the way. I would love to play Rayman 2 for the first time.

Actually, I wouldn't read too much into that. Copyright statements usually list the date when the property was created and the last time the copyright was reasserted. The Rayman character was created and copyrighted in 1995 -- hence the date on the video.

Of course, they could still be porting the first one; it just doesn't preclude the second one, or a brand new game, for that matter.

  19. I also think they're porting the first one cause they've been in the spirit of porting originals (Driver 1, Earthworm Jim 1), so I guess we'll see in 6 days. Either way, can't wait!

I had the PC version since I was a kid... and I was hooked. There was one level that I just didn't understand how to get past one part. So I used a cheat code to get all the levels :D.

And if it isn't the original that gets ported, I might buy it for my PSP since it's one of the PSX classics that you can buy.
