No If they actually make it like the original but bigger and with more interesting stuff it will be awsome.
Come on!whos complaining about gameloft?they of all the devs know how to make a great quality game.i dont think that they will want to screw up such a big name like rayman.and man i cant wait for this^_^!
No way man.. Raving Rabbids is more like a party game, like the Mario Party series. The old-school Rayman games were platformers, with the original, being this one, in 2D, and the following 2 (I've only heard of 2 others in the actual series, not including spin-offs) in 3D. I have both Rayman 1 and 2, and I've played many other Rayman games, and this is by far my favorite of them all. After seeing Earthworm Jim, I was dying for this, and they delivered. I couldn't be happier. EDIT: Just noticed the 3D model. Ok, so it probably won't be the original, but the 2nd one was an excellent game as well. I never got around to playing the 3rd one, so if they ported that it'd be good as well.
I really didn't care too much for the second Rayman game, at least compared to the original. The original is one of my favorite platformers ever, and I have very fond memories of it both on the Game Boy Advance and the PlayStation 1. Naturally I will be very disappointed if this isn't a port of the original, and instead a port of the second game. Or maybe it will be a whole new Rayman completely. Guess we'll find out The optimistic side of me says it will be the original, like what they did with Earthworm Jim But alas, the optimist in me is usually wrong
Rayman 2 would be hard to duplicate with the amazingly fast framerate with such good graphics. I wouldn't mind a downgraded version of it though. I also remember a 3d platformer DS version that came out a few years ago, but I don't have it. Rayman was the only game (other than monkey ball) with such awkward product placement. Haha, Rayman made me want sketchers!
Idk, I think the iDevice could pull it off. I'll pull it out again, although if I pulled out a Rayman game, it'd be the first one. That would be awesome if it was a port of the original... I've put so much time into that game. And the only commercial I remember involving Rayman was the one for Rayman 2 with the guy named Ray and then Rayman. Lol, man I remember that game when it first came out and I rented it for my N64, which was the thing at the time. Lol.
this had better not be ANOTHER friggen remake of Rayman 2 :< I bought it on the DS after having had it on the N64 and the PS2 thinking it would be a different game.. fff D:< they need to make something original already
Somehow I doubt it will be Rayman 2 since I don't think the iDevice can pull that off with it's massive lenght and high framerate. Maybe it will be more like Rayman Arena (a.k.a Rayman M), which is more like a racing game, or something new entirely of course.
Rayman 2 was already ported to the Nintendo DS, and there was also a port for the N64 (which was quite good). If those two consoles could pull it off with varying degrees of success, why would it be a problem for the iphone/ ipod touch? As far as I'm concerned Gameloft has a pretty good track record with porting games. I have both Driver and Earthworm Jim and i think they are great. I'd imagine that they could handle a decent port of Rayman 2. Personally though, I hope this is a port of the original game.
I'd kill to have first Rayman available to download. So many good memories...like how I could never get all of the cages to get to the dessert world. =P
WOOT RAYMAN, loved it 2D better though, Gameloft is probably going to mess it up with the gameplay D:
your right. its the original Rayman their porting the original was released in 1995 where as Rayman2 was released in 1999 so no doubt, once again, Gameloft is porting the original version of a classic game Driver1, first Earthworm Jim, Rayman1
God thats annoying. But youre right it would suck if it had good graphics and replayability and be fun. Do people realize that gameloft has always worked on rayman games? They helped develop even the most recent titles like raving rabbids. I know thats not the same but they've been porting rayman games to mobile devices since 2002.
Ah, come on guys - I thought Rayman II was excellent. You get chased by a blob with one eye and the whole chase scene is viewed through its mouth. That's hardly uninspired. However, I wasn't a huge fan of Rayman I or III, to be fair.
