The control is HORRIBLY BROKEN in later levels of the game, once the glide is introduced. In later levels, your glide will randomly fail or lag to start. As well, randomly, you will change from glide to jump (remember you only have a single button, unlike Rayman on the console or PC). The game is COMPLETELY UNFORIVING, expecting you to fly through a space that is only 10-20% taller than your character on a TOUCH DEVICE. Because you are running all the time, the unwanted jump turns into a long jump, meaning you will overshoot your target with no chance to recover. An example of this is Air Boxing in Level 21. The problem occurs in the long glide before the SECOND coin drops from the big stone. Are you kidding me? The game is clearly tested originally using a controller, and then "assumes" that the same precision can be carried out on a touch device.
I just hit the gliding levels and also thought controls seemed weird. Just assumed it was me, now I wonder.
Was going to buy this until I saw ads and IAPs. When you pay a premium price for a game, it shouldn't involve these things. It should either be free, or 99c maximum. Ill just stick to the original rayman run, thx
Yep. But seriously. It's like they don't exist. I've literally had the past four hours of gameplay without one.
Have you played Level 21 Normal and Invaded? If so, did you get 100 Lums for them? The gliding problem is intermittent. I think it is a bug in the game. I played previous Rayman games. This does not happen in other versions. The problem is that, in order to maintain flight and change altitude, you need to tap the button intermittently (not just continuously pressing the button). However, if you wait too long to tap, or if the device FAILS to register a tap, then you fall. It is this problem the game has. I suspect that the iOS is either rejecting the touch mistakenly or if the game is not calibrated properly. This is game breaking, basically. Until this is fixed, I am done with this game.... Sigh... So much potential.
Ill go test this now and edit this with my results EDIT : 100 Lums on Lvl.21 without any issue. Haven't gotten 100 in the infected 21, but that isn't from bad controls. Maybe this is a silly question, but you do understand this is a wind level and the glide is completely different in wind levels, right? Note: I tested it with great results using Ninja Teensy, and Raybox.
Lazer Kat, I was able to get 100 Lums on Level 21 too but not Level 21 infected, like you. Do not use other alternate characters, just Rayman. Not sure if this makes a difference, but should eliminate any potential variable during testing. Yes, I am aware of the glide differences between wind and no wind. In fact, the fact that the problem is more so in Level 21 Infected makes me think that there is some interaction problem with the wind, when you need to tap intermittently. Please try to beat Level 21 Infected using Rayman only and let me know. For Level 21, I am seeing the problem most frequently (again, it is intermittent) when you need to drop height to fire a shot to clear the mountain with the jelly. In my playthroughs, it is frequently during this drop (there are two of them in this level) that one of my taps will just fail to register and Rayman drops too much and die.
See my previous reply. The problem is more so with Level 21 Invaded than Level 21 because of the wind.
Lazar Kat, Agree with you. As I said before, I don't know if it makes a difference. For Rayman Legends (for example), apparently there are subtle timing changes in maneuvers between the different characters (for example, how fast they turn, how much runway do they need for a punch-jump, etc.). I only use Rayman. No other character. No power-ups. Always.
Aright. Ill give this a go, and let you know the results. I probably won't have time tonight, but I will do it.
I used Globox, but the first time I finished the level I used Rayman. I'm pretty bad at the game so I haven't unlocked lvl 21 invaded but I'm on it.
Andy C83, Congrats! Do you know if the different characters in Fiesta Run have "different" abilities and easeness of use (similar to Rayman Legends)? I assume you used NO POWER-UPS...
