And they didn't make you embargo your review till release? That's pretty sloppy from Chillingo, it it's true.
looks like more of a preview than a review - although I'll admit I tried translating Polish to English and I think its easier to read the Polish! LOL
Google translate is, unfortunately an imperfect tool. Still, seems like he was impressed by the game. No real spoilers that I could see.
Chillingo has a database of reviewers that get the ad hoc builds, and unfortunately, we ran out of UDID's and there are still more people on the list! You know Apple gives you only 100 UDID's to use, of which part are beta testers and part are reviewers - don't take it personally. If it were up to me (and its not - believe me) I'd give all the review sites a copy to try out.
Well atleast google translate makes it more readable. YOu can maybe understand 60-80% of the text then...
Not this time. And it's more of a preview than review. Ravensword is really great, reminds me of good old Gothic. There's one issue though - I had to disable some additional details and shadows to play it fluently on my 3G.
Will there be an introductory sale? I want to know because I don't want to buy this at launch and it goes down in price a few days after, and also I need to know what I can spend on other games as I'm on a budget.
Once I read the preview (as much as I could) it makes sense that you got it out there early. It's too bad you didn't get to try it with a 3Gs, because everything looks even more beautiful. I'm just glad that Josh and Russ arranged it so that people with older devices get to play it, too.
Ok, it's time for a little comparison: when foliage and shadows are on: and off: Graphics still look pretty good
Being as vague as possible, there is a main story line, and there are some items that you need to find in order to access particular areas. But the world itself is pretty much open, and you can take time to explore, hunt, kill monsters, engage in side missions, etc. There are plenty of surprises and fun interactions that have little to do with the main story (though they might be useful nonetheless). More important, it will be very easy to incorporate new content in the future -- the game is pretty much built for it.
That's an excellent question. We'll need to hear from one of the 3G testers. It should be noted that the foliage effect is more noticeable in town. While out in the forest, etc. it doesn't make as big a difference (thought you can still tell when you compare screens).
