looks amazing, but will the hero's clothes change or just upgrade because iv only seen him wear the same clothes everyday "thick nourishing ale; because water makes you sober" ahahaha im definitely playing with foliage on.
The Quest is massive, but huge chunks of it kind-of-sort-of look the same. Without revealing anything about what I know of Ravensword, can you imagine what it would take to make something as big as the Quest but with unique 3D landscapes? Do you think that's something a mobile device could handle? More to the point, do you think that's something a small development team could manage to put together? At App Store prices? Please be realistic about your expectations, folks. The iPhone is great, but it's no PS3.
Yes - I agree with that. Its a world that feels big and open to explore(for an iPhone game), but you have to have realistic expectations about it. Also, it doesn't have all of the fanciness of a hardcore RPG like the Quest - its half adventure game (zelda) half RPG (oblivion) scaled down to iPhone size of course. I have said this before, but we do plan to have a pretty extensive expansion pack right after this. (Now that all of the game infrastructure is there) I'm hoping that it will be DLC that will exist right in the game - so you could buy Ravensword latest version, and click download expansion pack - while your playing, get all of the customization, extra weapons, extra levels, and more. Its already got a decent 7-8 hour play time (give or take depending how much you don't explore or mess around. I hope that answers some questions.
I haven't been following this much so I'm not too familiar with how it plays. I have heard it compared to Zelda and Oblivion so I want to know exactly how gameplay works.
Read the thread (at least Josh's comments -- he's one of the developers), watch the videos. That should give you an idea of how it plays.
not really.... maybe a dumbed down version of morrowind. but still looks like a good starting point for similar RPGs on the iphone
It's one of his faults, I'm afraid. By the time he reaches level 10 or so, he smells like a hobo. Release got moved back a few days, due to an elusive crash bug. It's fixed, though, and I'll be wrapping things up tomorrow, then it goes to Chillingo for review. The game is coming out really nice. The new controls are a vast improvement, and many of the things you guys asked for made it in. We're close. So very close...
How much will original game and ,if you can tell me, the expansion cost? I wana make sure I save enough.
