I think you are right about BIA, but Arta's point still holds: it's a good technique that has proven to work in a number of games from different publishers. In other words, a best-practice, available to anyone making a game that involves navigating a character in a 3D environment with a dynamic camera.
I watched the beta video for this game. Everything looks great but the blood looks like paper. I understand it was the beta version in the vid, but I want to make sure, is the blood gonna look like that?
I just wish developers didn't feel the need to lock a 'virtual stick' graphic in the interface. They look ugly and take up valuable screen real estate. I would prefer if you could just drop your thumb on the screen and that would become the active control area. Maybe a soft transparent circle could bloom when you touch, but even that isn't really necessary.
btw which company made this game Crescen moon game...human powered game ? and you can buy from traders...
That doesn't work for some people, though, guy.. or lady, I guess. I can't play roadkill cafe for that reason!
ive played something like this b4 in fable 2 and oblivion but i think ill really like this cause i might just play it all.
Look's great, pretty nice graphics, and from what I've seen there is a physics engine too.The animations need some work though.
Don't worry guys, just make sure that you get the controls right. You can add the extra content later, or improve the animation, or whatever. And I would hope that most people on this thread would understand that 1 programmer and 1 art director are not going to whip up an "Elder Scrolls: Oblivion" for the iPhone in a few months!
I'm going to answer this question before anyone asks it. It is probably unlikely that the game will be submitted the 15th as the controls are being reworked. Everything is coming out nicely, but refining it takes some time. I hope it will not be longer than a few days extra. Will let you know - as soon as we know. -Josh
Okay, then I shall spam it so then no one asks it for future preferences ... This is going to be submitted later than October 15th, a few days more :O
I kind of expected this as things almost never go as plan, not a bad things as its better to perfect it now than later. Anyways hope it's not too soon...oh and josh since I was the 1000th poster, let me know when it's out before the others so I can post it
Josh Please don't pospone the game any longer... First it was late September then it was supposed to be submitted oct.10 now your saying oct.15? Don't listen to the whiners on here, you know this game will be good anyway so submit it already.
left thumb movement, including strafe. right thumb swipe look. you can use two fingers to turn 180 degrees very quickly.
I'm just curious...since it sounds like these control changes were precipitated by beta testers/publishers, do you feel that the controls are better now than before?
