That just looks fabulous so far, Josh! Keep up the good work. So are you going to stick with the 3-6 hour story or are you going to grow it a bit? Or will a big story be in the expansion pack?
No official tally on game length yet, we haven't played all the way through and are still finishing missions. The first estimate will come in probably two weeks. It will be based on how long it takes someone who knows where everything is to get through the whole story. One of the great things about how the story is constructed, is that there can be missions "after" the ending. In fact, that will be the main basis of the expansion pack.
Sweet! Thanks Josh!! Sounds like you guys are really dedicated to making this a GROUNDBREAKING game for the idevice with the the emphasis on GAMEPLAY!! I am very happy that you are making a 3GS version and I am eager to play it! You obviously know that an ambitious, epic game can look great, sound great and be very polished but if the most important aspect-THE GAMEPLAY-does not deliver and is shallow then it is disappointing (see Gangstar). Looking forward to seeing a video! It's really great that you guys are a small independent company and you are not only making what may be the most ambitious title yet, you are also very active in these forums and even implementing some of the members' suggestions in your game!
Thanks! Yes Russ and I were crazy enough to take on this mission... - wait - Gangstar was dissapointing? I've read a lot of good reviews of it. I haven't bought it yet.
Well, yes and no in my opinion. I am really enjoying playing it and I'm glad that Gameloft made it but it's just pretty shallow and I can't help but feel a bit disappointed...mainly with the gunfight/shooting missions and weak AI from the police and enemies, etc. I knew that when they announced the game was $7 it would probably be a little "thin." Anyway, I am confident that you and Russ will be well rewarded for your hard work and don't be afraid to charge $10 for this game! I know there has to be a huge market for premium games at premium price (reports state that Real Racing sold over 250K copies in the first month!!) I am glad that games like Real racing, Gangstar and Ravensword are pushing the hardware and more importantly setting a new standard for what is possible, as well as making a case for premium prices in the app store.
That's not polite... Anyways, Gang$tar cops always seem to be in the way of my fast moving vehicle... Don't know why though
Missions after the end of the game? GREAT! That's EXACTLY what gang$tar doesen't have and needs! Great work, Josh! I hope this will be atleast in the Top 5 app list!
No. It's not disappointing or shallow. It's awesome. I don't know what they have against it. It's really good. Although, there are no side missions after the end of the game besides the delivery missions. But anyway, You have me sold on this, Josh. I'm looking forward to playing Ravensword on my iPod Touch 2G.
You know what would be awesome? If you can create your own character when you start the game. I love making my hero a good lookin' hero.
He's already a good looking hero. From the looks on the pictures, he looks quite like me , only with a thicker neck and shorter hair.
Saving my lunch money! I hope it comes out soon, I wanna ride my horse! What about mixing a little Gangster in....You know you ride along and steal other people s Horses? Can you pimp out your horse. Many a Big gold chain? Anyway can't wait to play on my long commute. Sometimes 3 hours one way so, make it about a 5 hour game and I am good! Then you can sell me the expansion packs when I am hooked!
I'm looking forward to the expansion pack, but then again, I'm looking forward to the game in general. I do hope there is a good bad system, where you can fight guards and kills civilians if you are a bad guy.
it makes me excited every time i hear that there will be missions to do after the main quest is beaten, i also hope that all the environments look as beautiful as they do in the screenshots.
I think this game is great looking I haven't played the demo like version cause it crashed on my iPod touch 2g ...help!
