Apple knew about the Unity problem in the first place, and had us wait 12 days and rejected it anyway. I don't think there is anybody there allowed to make that kind of decision. Apple is the only party in this whole mess that could fix this, too. We got pinched in a weird little combination of screwups between Apple, Unity, the Mono project, and Storm8. Storm8 kicked it off though. If they hadn't been stealing people's info, this would not have happened.
There's no way Apple could fix this completely, but it would be helpful if they at least featured it in the app store upon release. This is obviously HIGHLY anticipated in the TA community and will sell like mad among us, but as somewhat of an atonement Apple should feature this highly. I'm not saying that they will necessarily, just that they should.
I'd love a featured spot. They've seen the game, and response was very positive, so that has always been a possibility. I was mostly hoping they would speed up the evaluation process. I knew this was going down about a week ago, but some Unity apps were still getting through, so I crossed my fingers and hoped. Meanwhile, Unity gave me a build with the Mono problem fixed, but that Unity build had a problem that corrupted my project a bit, and I had to go back through everything, fix some things, and retest it. Having done that, I had the new build ready for a couple days, and just sat on it waiting for Apple to hopefully pass the first one. I couldn't submit the build I knew would pass because that would have pushed us to the back of the queue. It was maddening... and meanwhile I have to watch YOU guys go mad because it's taking so long. Meanwhile Id and Bethesda have competing projects in the works, every day that passes reduces the value of Ravensword, people are going to get sick of hearing about it, and I CANT DO ANYTHING!
Any idea what those Zenimax (Id and Bethsoft) titles are? I know that Todd Howard mentioned that they have an App coming soon, but I wasn't sure WHAT that App would be, and I've been unable to ferret anything out of them. My guess would be a re-jigged version of the PSP Elder Scrolls title that went MIA a few years ago, but then again Carmack's the iPhone junkie. (And we're not sick of hearing about Ravensword yet! )
We haven't seen nary a screenshot of whatever Bethesda and Id are working on, so I can't imagine that they would release anything for at least 6 months. Besides, considering how badly some of the major players have bungled their iPhone properties (Silent Hill, I'm looking at you!), I wouldn't necessarily assume that they would keep people from picking up Ravensword. I have a feeling that we're talking about days, not weeks for release. Call it a hunch...
Zenimax announced they were working on "something" in Feb. They do seem to take a long time to produce things, so maybe that's not such a threat. John Carmack said on the podcast that they were working on a Quake RPG, so I know that's not vapor. It's terrifying to be in competition with this guy and his resources. He's about 8 million times smarter than me and has his own orbital launch vehicle and an army of minions! I sure hope so. Maybe I need to get on the line to Ms Cleo at Psychic Friends Network and ask her what she sees.
Russ, many threadpages ago I promised swift cockpunches to anyone trying to pirate your app, but perhaps we should direct our groin attack ire towards random Storm8 associates?
I think and hope that most people in this thread will buy your game! Half of the fun is wating and talking about your new shiny toy that you are going to buy. And I also know that all of us following this game are impressed with the amount of activity you guys are showing in this thread! So hang in there!!
No. Punishing random associates would be wrong. Instead, let us strive to to be more thoughtful, and methodically ferret out each and every human being associated with Storm8, their relatives, their pets, their relative's pets, and their pet's relatives, and provide each of them with their deserved measure of groin trauma. It's a small step toward a better world.

Agreed. It's a Day One purchase for me, whatever day that might be. I know for Josh and Russ this was a trying week but this thread has kind of been an ongoing journal and that interaction with them on this board has made me want to buy the game even more to help support their efforts.

Given this thread has almost 2100 posts, I don't think you'll have to be worried about being passed over in favor of the "big boys". This is also an instant buy for me. As much as for the game as it is the way you guys present yourselves in the forums, and interact with everyone.
So now we have another 2 weeks of wating to do , what to do with all that time. It really had me worried until I found these babies. Apple Does It Again: The iTit Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store and play music. The iTit will cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and speaker size. This is considered a major social breakthrough, because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them. So now there is only one course of action left. Convincing the Mrs that she need these babies implanted before the game is released. Would be the ultimate game experience resting your head between these while playing ravensword, dont you think!
