How many races are there? And how big is the map? And if we go to jail can we sneak out or are we fighting our ways out?
How are the hunting mechanics? When you aim with the bow will you be able to just aim with te head of the arrow? Will we also be able to cook the food? Sorry for all of the questions.
How is first person view in the game? Is it like a Skyrim/fallout feel to it or is it going to be third person the whole time?
to answer some questions here - you have to aim the bow, but there is a targeting system that helps guide you a bit. You don't need to cook the food, its automatically consumed as you need it in your inventory. The food only affects your health regeneration rate. You'll want to have a lot of food in your inventory, especially when there is a lot of combat going on. There are two opposing races in the game - Dark Elves, and Humans. You play as a human soldier in the beginning of the game, at the end of a long war. There are quite a few similarities with how this game starts, and how the original game started. The original did not have any customization of your character, but this one has quite a bit. To compare it to Aralon - the size of the world is bigger, and the quests are more complex. We've got active combat and first person that is quite a bit more functional than Aralon was. We've also got a very advanced inventory system that allows you to see your items in great detail - and we've got a lot of items. We've just added a bunch of rings and amulets that will allow for stat boosts in various areas. Aralon had skill trees, but Ravensword does not - it has talents which are more like perks. Aralon also did not have jumping, and Ravensword does have jumping, as well as leveling up your jumping. Paying homage to the original, we've made it so you can level up your jump just enough to get on roof tops and looking for hidden loot. The game has plenty of that, plenty of secret areas to explore. Speaking about the quests, there are many multi-part quests that become quite involved and interesting, with puzzles to solve. You will need to use your items in some ways to solve puzzles as well. This is sort of our homage to Zelda. We have some flying mounts which allow for combat, another thing that Aralon did not have. I'm not trying to downplay Aralon either - we have great plans for Aralon 2.
Ok by me just take your time, don't rush and make the best game you can. I will do my part and pay my $$$ with a glad heart! And thanks for regularly updating us on the progress of Shadowlands, you don't know how much we appreciate it.
Push the submission date back if you guys are having difficulty I'm sure we can all be patient enough to wait a little longer
im sure someone has posted this before but Is there any chance this will come out on Android. I know there is one game from crescent moon games on the google play store called paper monster and i would really love to see this come to android as well. Im sure it would be a huge seller.
I remember reading many months ago about how Dead Trigger wound up having to go free soon after it released for Android since 9 out of every 10 copies were illegally downloaded. Apparently most people weren't even willing to shell out 99 cents for a really good game... (and then soon after that the iOS version had to go free because people were complaining that the Android version was free). I recall the devs asking around if people were interested in an Android version of Aralon (and there was interest) but I don't believe they ever came out with it... I'm curious to hear what Android plans there are, if any, for Ravensword 2. I have a $25 credit for the Google Play store from my Nexus 7 but I'd still play this on my iPad 3.
December 2012, right? It's right around the corner. Can wait for Skyrim * Cough Cough*... I mean Ravensword 2 to come out!
