iPad 2 res on iPad 3 Is proven to look a little worse then on native iPad 2. It's because the iPad 3 retina screen has smaller pixels then iPad 2. Play nova 3 on iPad 3 with iPad 2 res and you'll see what I mean. Anyway, I guess ur right.
Check out the ravensword 2 ss http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Minecraft+-+Pocket+Edition/news.asp?c=45010
Not surprising: the game rarely dips below 30 FPS on my 4S (even in town where Aralon slowed considerably) and the iPhone 5 is twice as fast.
whoa nelly, that was taken from the editor. it was posted on my Twitter as a mockup of what Ravensword 2 'could' look like on the iPhone 5. I don't actually have one yet. Haven't actually tried running that particular zone on a device yet.
First off: I'm insanely jealous that you have a build for this thing Secondly: Given that with a 4S you've achieved an average of 30 FPS, safe to say that the game is crawling along at 10-20 fps on ipod 4G or is even unplayable?
who said we've achieved an average of 30 fps? We also don't know if we can support iPod 4 yet - we didn't finally get it running, but memory issues still persist. We may end up doing what we did with Aralon and make a 'low res' version of all of the areas so that it can run in a lower memory footprint.
so if he's saying it doesn't dip below 30 fps in a particular area, that doesn't mean 30 fps is the average - in fact its impossible to say what the average is from that statement. I should also note we're still finishing up content, haven't really dove into optimization yet.
My apologies, from the quality of the screens you've been posting, I keep forgetting there is still a fair bit of work to be done before release! But I must say, it would be amazing if you managed to make this work on the iPod 4G, from a fanboy's view and a technological view. Keep up the great work!
Sorry to speak out of turn. So let me just clarify. I have no idea what FPS the game achieves on average. In fact, I'm not even sure what FPS actually means .
first person shooter, I think.. I suppose this game is a first person shooter if you have a blunderbuss.
Still looking forward to this anyway, looking for a great rpg on the AppStore... Aralon lasted me months.
Soo err, sorry to keep bothering threads with this question, but do you know if this might work on iPad 1 yet?
