First I should say this game is not Aralon 2, nor was it intended to be. Ravensword has been and will always be more of an actiony rpg than Aralon. For instance, shooting the bow in first person will require some 'aim' on your part, you can't just shoot an enemy from far away locked and always hit. So in answer to your question about the combat, its more hack n' slash, combo style attacks, z targeting akin to Zelda. Ravensword 2 doesn't have skill trees, it has talents which are in a sense like perks that can be leveled up, for magic, combat, as well as physical attributes. Ravensword 2's magic is derived from a rune system, the same as the original Ravensword (except that we have added a few new runes with interesting powers) Yes we have real-time shadows on anything iPad 2 or 4s and up. Yes we support Retina. We have as many enemies as Aralon, and the world is probably about the same size as Aralon, possibly larger (we're not entirely finished yet) We will have voice acting on the main quest line NPC's.
Will there be random books like in skyrim that one can actually read?? (Not that I would actually read any of them unless they are in some way important)
I can't help but ask again.... Will there be a faction system? That's what made skyrim so amazing; the ability to fight for certain kingdoms, join certain guilds, fight certain races. And most important of all, can you choose which factions you fight for? And which you fight against?
I would look at Josh's answers above. To repeat: Ravensword 2 is not a Skyrim clone. Get that idea out of your head and you will not be disappointed.
But it's not just skyrim..... It's every rpg. Every recent rpg that has ever appealed to the masses. Aralon had the city guard and criminal system. Six guns had the union troops and outlaw system... Heck, gta, red dead redemption.... Even the walking dead has an apparent faction system. Honestly. I don't care about skyrim. I just want this one question answered. This one question that u could of easily responded too instead of shushing me. Whether or not the game has a faction system is important.... But what's more important is at least that u answer our questions, not pick and choose. I wasn't using skyrim as a model, but as a comparison. :/ And when some1 mentioned the books from skyrim... You didn't put up much of a retort.
He didn't talk about any faction systems though. Edit: just because this isn't a skyrim clone doesn't meant that it can't borrow ideas.
There's no reason to ban you if you're not insulting and baiting other members, spamming or constantly trolling. Ah yes and it seems as though Eli will ban you if you admit to piracy...that's a new rule here, or one that hasn't been enforced lately. But disagreeing with a mod is no heinous crime.
You are right, he didn't. But he did say that Ravensword 2 is not Aralon 2. He also said that the game will be more action-oriented -- more Zelda, less Elder Scrolls. Zelda games don't have factions , at least not in the western RPG sense of the term. @hfhd574: don't worry -- I'm not going to ban anybody for expressing an opinion. My point is simply that you (an everybody else) would do well to keep their mind open about the game and not try to shoehorn it into being a clone of one series or another.
Good point... And Regardless of the minor details, I'm sure this game will do well when it's released.
