Good post by Josh. I think sometimes we expect way way much more for a game which is less than 10 dollars.

Ravensword 2 was a great experience, really enjoyed it, as i said before the huge non-linear world might have actually been a disadvantage due to a lack of missions. I found Aralon to be 'larger' with many more missions.

But as Josh says they will learn from this. I go to the cinema and it costs me about $30 (ticket/food etc) for a film which often isnt very good. Ravensword 2 cost me £5, i had a great time playing it over a week and a bit and i'm sad its over now ! Might go back to Aralon as its been a while since i played that once i completed it.

I'm very happy i bought the game, glad my small £5 for the game might help towards costs for Aralon 2 or another RPG from Josh.

Yeah there were issues with the game but i'm still amazed we get a game of that quality on iOS, a few years back i was playing a crappy Snake game on my old Nokia, now i have a wealth of quality games for a few pounds.

Josh, I am no longer having issues. For some reason when I leveled up stealth I was able to exit the cave and save my game without crashing. I believe it was an iCloud issue.

I love the game, fantastic work! Looking forward to future updates.

I bought it opening night and only now got around to playing it. Leveled up by killing the goblins, sold their stuff to the campsite dude (Jonn?), bought a bow (with unlimited arrows!!), killed the cave trolls (last one was a pain), got the water, freed Lamil, and now I'm looking for the archmage tower, I guess. I sold the three ingots back to the campsite dude who had them stolen from him - didn't really get much money for 'em.

(I found a diamond vigor +2, put it in the bow, but then found a purple emerald agility +2 - I had to smash the diamond to replace it with the emerald, unfortunately, but agility seemed more appropriate than vigor for a bow. Actually, I'm not really sure how the enhancements work.)

    Some questions:

    - where do spells come in?!? I keep upping magic talents and vigor but I don't know any spells. I did get a rune from Lamil tho.
    - are there hidden things? Like hidden doors, or things hidden in other things? I don't know if I should be scrutinizing walls as I go by, or trying to smash things like piles of bones.
    - is it possible to do something (smash a diamond, sell ingots, etc., etc.) that will screw you up later?
    - I wasn't able to open one chest in the cave trolls area because I have to pick the lock. Where do I get a lock pick kit? Jonn doesn't sell one. Maybe in town?

Am I on the right track??? Last game like this was, uh, Eye of the Beholder....

    Thanks!

    Josh,

Out of curiosity, in development terms would you say that the limits are now not so much technical (A5 devices and above) but financial re: return on investment? Or is it a little bit of both?

    Cheers!

The ingots weren't for that guy, that's why you didn't get much. Everytime you get a new mission, make sure to go to the quests menu and track it. That way you'll know what to do, also if you ask too much about what to do then what will be left for you to do?

My opinion? You need to read a lot more, just read all the menus, walk every corner of the game and enjoy it.

Technical more with the fact of trying to support older devices - yes. Supporting newer devices is usually easier because they have more power. Return on investment is a tough one, depending on the game. I've found that big RPG's usually sell really well - so even though Ravensword 2 was our biggest budgeted game (still meager compared to other platforms) I had a feeling it would do well.

While the game is an impressive technical achievement, and a good game for $7, to compare it to Betheseda is hyperbole. Graphics only go so far. The game still lacks a lot of key features of Betheseda's latest and greatest. Hours of voice acting, beautiful score, massive amount of characters, items, and quests, in game literature, huge world, etc...

I'm having a problem I feel stupid for having. I need to go to the southern part of the map (from South Aven downward) but have no idea how to get there. I've hugged the southern walls of the forest, South Aven, Aven Hills, and the Wasteland and the only opening I found (in Aven Hills) went into a cave with two yetis (unkillable via crossbow by the way.)
I seriously don't know what I'm doing wrong. I feel like the yeti cave might be a glitch and the opening is supposed to go to the southern area. Please help!

theres a gate right near the market in South Aven. From there you need to go near the cabin in the Terraces and up those big stairs that you need to jump to get up, to go to the Tanglewood Marsh.

Ok, this confirms that I need some kind of glasses. I never even went through nor saw the gate near the market. Thank you, and you really have made a brilliant game (you're one of the devs right?)

If I have but one compliant, it's that you can't drag bodies around like a murderous psychopath like in TES or Fallout. I don't know why but that's my favorite part about Bethesda games.

  13. Yea, you can't kill the citizens ether, oh my psicopathic tendencies in rpg will bite me one day, but today I have the upper hand muhahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

One of my only complaints while playing through this game, is that there is no customization of the hud. I wish i could move the grab button towards the side of the screen. Quite bothersome for me.

Some weird glitch happened in the end of the game. I killed the final boss and then the app took me to my ipad menu screen. Now when I start the game it has been saved after the killing of the demon and I can't do anything , I am stuck in the place where I fought the boss and can't decent to leave through the portal even though the quest instructions say just that , that I should live through the portl that is . Am I missing something here ?

It's generally not common for a private company to release that type of information.

Saying the game was developed with a team of four people gives a general indication though. By comparison, look at the scrolling credits of any console game -- I'm sure you'll see a good 50+ different names on most large games.

Im at the hills and whenever i want to enter grim pass, the screen becomes black and the music still playing, and i can hear footsteps of people walking but the screen stays black. So i can't progress anymore. Is it a bug?
