Can you eat food in this game? I see fires. Do you need to cook the food first? When you sell items, would it be possible to sell ten or more at a time, instead of selling them one at a time? After enhancing my bow and sword the main world screen has the icon of the sword permanently at the right side of the screen over the attack button. This must be a bug. Thanks
Game Impressions Yeah, the game is absolutely awesome in matter of graphics and size. Just a few rpg-typical details are missing, in general randomization. For example in loot, selling prices between different traders, enemy-size, -power and -location. I think this is easy to fix, right Josh?
Just wanted to help some of the newer guys out... There is a pretty good sword you can get early on in the back of a cave just west of south aven. Exit out the west gate and follow the path west and you'll find the cave pretty easy. You'll have to get past like 3 Yeti's though. It's called the scroll blade. Also noticed that chests will repopulate in the same location after you loot them. Not sure what the time frame is but it's good to know. Keep a good memory of where chests are. It's how I'm getting a ton of gems!
So, I was thinking to myself while upgrading my talents, that it was a pretty paltry list; only 5 different characteristics to advance? Then I looked at the bottom of the screen and noticed the category tabs. Basically, I have only upgraded one category of talents for the first 10-11 levels. I r dumz.
That happened to me too! I upgraded the first category until I realized there was more category's! On the plus side my guy is pretty much a parkour master with fully upgraded speed talent and acrobatics talent fully upgraded fully with the jumping ring equipped. I also have quite high stealth!
Everyone is talking about the quest to kill the Yeti and you will be rewarded with a cool sword, but will someone tell me where to get the quest. @Josh In the next update you should include a NG+ mode where you can replay all the missions while keeping your stats and equipment.
There's a hidden chest on a balcony in South Aven that you can get to only by jumping rooftops. It's near the entrance to Avenshire hills.
Few more suggestions for an expansion and/or update (some of it is new content, others tweaks) -Enemies shouldn't spawn in the exact same place, every single time. Randomize a bit. -Loot needs to be more random. Seriously, this is really important. Every goblin can't have 20 gold (forget the exact number) and a wooden shield. -Loot drops from enemies need to be occasionally awesome - Aralon had this but RS2 doesn't seem to. Looting is pretty boring becasue there is no randomization or sense of "oh awesome, I just got this new helmet that makes me resistant to ice damage that I can't buy anywhere" -You can cast spells - why not the enemies? So far I've only seen ice giant mages shoot ice at me, but how about other enemies that shoot fire, or make the ground grow spikes underneath me, or impede my speed? Likewise we should be able to enhance weapons to resist/attack with certain elements. -More ranged enemies. All goblins should not be armed with just a sword and shield. Maybe a few with short bows that fire weakly but rapidly. -Give us a new game mode to unlock after completing the game once - "extreme". The difficulty is set, obviously at extreme, we can't quick travel and we can't change the difficulty for that game slot. I think it would add a lot of longevity and replay value. Also give us some armor or weapons that can only be found in that mode. -NPCs and the world need to seem a bit more alive. When I go exploring, I want to see the occasional bear chasing down a deer and eating it, or maybe a random dead/alive and hiding NPC among the goblin or Orc lairs that will reward us. Likewise, more caves/random areas that aren't related to quests but are just there to explore and loot. Aralon had a ton of them, RS2, not so many. These really help add to a sense of randomness, but as it is every cave or tunnel I come across is related to a story or side quest instead or being just there to explore and discover. As it is the game feels more like an open world where we just travel from quest to quest instead of going off the beaten path a little and being rewarded.
I agree with everything you said, except the new game mode. You can already change the difficulty, and replaying the whole game from the start for a new weapon/armor... just no. About the enemies spawning in different places, there is some kind of bug that respawns some enemies after loading the game. For example, I was in the Grim Pass and I saved there after killing an orc (I was there with looooow stats, so 2 hits from those orcs would kill me). Then I continued through the area and another orc appeared and killed me. After loading the game, the orc I killed before saving was alive again, so due to the fade in effect he killed me 6 or more times before I was able to escape.
