Finished it (Main Quest + 16 side quests - can't seem to find anything else to do). Had a blast, thanks Josh & CM! Will probably do a second play through after some updates hit. Apart from the bugs already reported, I also had a funny thing happen when I was fighting Ul Thog. In my first 10 or so attempts to defeat him, he kept on levitating off into the sky and disappearing at some point in the battle, seemingly for good. Finally got him to stay more or less on the ground. Not sure what I did differently... And now I think it's time for me to spin up Aralon again. :-D
7 hours gameplay for 7 bucks is not that good compared to most decent games in the app store which will often provide hours of entertainment for one buck, but it's not the end of the world. The thing that sticks out to me is how the devs hugely overstated the magnitude of the game. I'm assuming the "40 hours of gameplay" statement was made in good faith and not as a cheap marketing move, but I just can not comprehend how noone in the dev/testing team was able to tell the difference between 7-8 hours and 40 hours.
I made that statement early on when I thought it was going to have 40 hours and also before we added fast travel. I never added that to the app description. You could still easily play this game for 40 hours by exploring, not using fast travel, and doing side quests.
Ok just found out that loot in chests is somewhat random. I was able to test this by reloading a save and checking a chest again. One thing is that you must reload a save that is before the area. Example... 1. Looted a +3 str gem in the marsh on my first save. 2. Loaded up my second save and looted the same exact chest and it had a +3 Agi gem. 3. Reloaded second save and it was a +3 Agi gem. 4. Reloaded second save but made sure it was before I zoned into the marsh, looted chest gave a +3 End gem. Someone should make a map of chest locations!!
Hi there! Having great fun with the game after several hours and side quests. However, I have a stupid question: where is the troll cave with the enchanted pool for the quest to enlarge Lamil the Mage? I cannot find that damn pool anywhere! Thanks on advance. Mike
Although a couple of players have said that they completed the game in 7-8 hours, I would say this is far from typical. I consider myself an average gamer and I have just hit the 7 hour mark now, and I don't feel like I am anywhere near to completing the game. I think this is worth mentioning for folks who are on the fence and are put off buying it because they think it will be a short game.
I appreciate that you took the time to respond, that's rare enough. However, the people who reported finishing the game said they did all of the 15ish sidequests that they found, so that's probably not it. Did the addition of autotravel somehow made the game shrink from 40 hours to less than 10? I guess that's possible. I suppose you're now going to change the app description to something like "almost 10 hours of gameplay"? I'm sure you wouldn't want to grossly mislead your potential buyers by promising them dozens of hours of content that's not in the game. The thing is, the difference between 7-8 (or even 12-15) hours and the promised 40 hours is way too large to be just variance between playstyles.
Its never said anywhere in the app description how long the game is. Features: Enormous 3d world to explore First Person and 3rd Person on the fly switching Gorgeous and realistic scenery Ragdoll Physics Game Center Achievements iCloud support Original Soundtrack from composer Sean Beeson Hundreds of items to use Reflex and precision based combat with manual blocking and dodging Various weapon types - Bows, Crossbows, Hammers, Swords, Axes Flying Mounts Horses Tons of enemy types including huge prehistoric creatures. the 40 hours came from an interview on Pocket Gamer I did awhile ago where they asked me how long I thought the game would be.
I'm pretty sure it has never said 40 hours of gameplay in the app description in the first place. Where do you see that? EDIT - Josh beat me to it.
Will the game get mod support and item crafting by any chance? Oh, and earlier I meant that I killed a common Yeti. I just killed the Snow Yeti and I got the sword from the guy from Skyrim. It was TOO easy.
Hi, I would thank you for this game. Even if it's at certain point bugged, it's a very very good game. I don't often play on my iphone 5 but I have already played ~500 minutes at it. Seriously , bravo .
So, does that map represent the whole game world? Pretty small if that's the case. How does it compare to Aralon?
After like half an hour of levelling up and training the crossbow in plains I got killed in the goblin's cave because of the clunky combat system and guess where I got resurrected? North Arven with all new stats gone. Sorry guys, but I have other stuff to do in life. Could you please auto-save the progress when I enter the location like cave, house etc? This is not 1990, no need to be that brutal. Also it would be much more easier to play if you move the buttons away from the edge of the screen on the iPad. I keep pressing the magic attack all the time.
