So I talked to Hans regarding a horse. But, I only see sheep in the paddock. Nor is there an option to buy a horse when talking to Hans. Running around by foot is getting tedious and is killing the fun a bit for me to be honest.
There are quest markers shown on the mini map for all of the main quest line quests. For instance, the Troll Caves are marked, as is the Archmage's Tower. You do need to be within range to actually see it though. We'll try to make the quest text a little more obvious which direction you need to go in.
Hmmm...wonder if iFunbox can be used to enable iPhone 5 shadows on iPad 4. I've done graphical mods a ton with Gameloft games. Hmmm. I'll check it out and post a walkthrough if I can figure it out (hopefully they use a .cfg file where I can just change text values).
Wow! Great game. I am loving it so far, but I agree with most of the critics here. My personal gripes are: - I think not having specific directions is both good and bad. Good, in that it promotes exploration (lots of it sometimes ), leveling up, and paying attention. Bad, in that, if I take on a quest today, and don't play until tomorrow, I might forget where I'm supposed to go. I think some kind of compass or marker system would be cool, if it was optional. - Drawing weapons - sorry, but it's really stupid. Why does my dumb guy keep putting his sword away right as a troll is about to maul him? Let me decide when to keep my weapons out please. - Looting. Like others have mentioned, I am finding myself leaving most guys un-looted. I preferred Aralon's approach to looting, even it also had some flaws. Perhaps it could just be tweak in sensitivity. All that stuff aside, you really can't get down on this game. It is superb in almost every way. When I think back to what we used to play on our cell phones (snake!), I realize how mind-boggling it is to be playing this on my flippin' phone! A full sized RPG of this caliber is very ambitious, and I think it's total awesomeness. But, uh... How do I pickpocket? I have no idea, and it sounds really cool. My "stealth" is up to 60 now. Does it unlock at a certain level?
So here are my issues...... Picking up loot is a bit of a challenge but my biggest issue so far is having to play as a dude. I like to play as a female it just helps me get into the game more....so I had to buy a hood so I won't have to see his face....but I still know I'm playing as a dude so it is annoying. I know this won't bother most ppl but honestly if I had known I wouldn't have a choice I would have passed on the game. And no I don't want to change the camera. Oh yeah one more thing....can we not get some sort of marker on the map to tell us where the heck we are???
Fantastic - that's develop support for you! I don't understand some of the negative comments posted. Apart from the camera control / placing of buttons the game is great IMHO - it is an elder scrolls-like experience on a handheld. Even games like Oblivion / Skyroim have flaws and glitches (in fact it's part of their attraction in many ways). I feel the developers have done a fantastic job and I've been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the game...
I agree. I got the crossboy, but there is something about the ability to draw the string back, aim your shot and then release. Crossbow does this, but much faster. I think I'll go back to bow just because it's more fun to play with.
After spinning the tires, I'm going to say I like this. It's a solid four star game for me, and a huge improvement over Aralon in almost every respect (it's no secret that I don't think much of Aralon). It does feel somewhat like Oblivion-lite; probably the first iOS game that could legitimately be called that. I'll see if my opinion holds over time, but I'm pretty optimistic based on what I've played of it so far. Good work Josh and crew!
Not sure if this can be done anymore.. if the CFG file is in the Documents folder of the App then you are in luck but in IOS 6 Apple made it where 3rd party programs can not make changes to the .App folders anymore unless you are jailbroken. I learned this the hard way when I kept replacing the XML or CFG (forget what it is) on Asphalt 7 and it kept staying the same.
I "got in a lather" (never heard that phrase before, will have to add it to my repertoire) because I don't want to see what is, apart from Solidfart, a peaceful, friendly thread where we're interacting with the developer, offering suggestions and generally enjoying ourselves become an argument wasteland like I've seen so many other threads become. It really only takes one post like that to bring about the transformation.
I literally played through aralon 4 times and enjoyed each run through because of the vast open world it had. To not expect bugs on a mobile device is irrational. Josh you and your team are incredible programmers do not let the bug reports get you down :^). One question though, how open world is this game compared to aralon?
I know this has also been mentioned before but I have noticed on a lot of occations that the bow doesnt register any damage when it hits the enemy. It will still tell you that you got a double damage hit from the steath perk but no damage will be done upon hitting the target.
? Hey Square or anyone else that knows this game pretty well, how viable is it to play a pure role as in a ranged type character only, a warrior type only and a mage type only? Like can I be a full fledged mage with no sword and shield and still be ok? Is there staff's to use if you do want to be said mage type? Am I gimping myself by just being a pure roll type as in no hybrid style, thanks for any help with this!
I would like to second this. Also from the limited ammount I have seen this is more open world. I say that mainly because of the town being smack bang in the middle of it, you can chose north south east west. Ok the story is there, but I suppose you COULD ignore it and go smashing things up where ever you wanted... Well, on the most part.
Frankly, I don't think that playing as a "Mage" is viable. Magic R:S plays more like "powers," and less like a full-fledged system. I think a "warrior/Mage" is more realistic. You can put a lot of skill points in lowering the stamina cost of using magic and increasing damage. A ranged-focused character is more viable, particularly if you build up your sneaking abilities as well as your ranged combat ones and speed/acrobatics.
