I haven't played this game in months, is there actually PVP multiplayer?

But honestly Ravensword: Shadowlands is only a slightly average RPG. Aralon is easily better than it in every single way, but the graphics are far too outdated at this point.

I can't understand how they went pretty much straight backwards when developing this game. I was excited to learn that Exiles will have a bigger budget, but I am still catious because this game was so incredibly hyped and the final product was a very watered down experienced compared to previous games.

If gameloft were to do an open world skyrim like experience, even with all the freeium garbage, it would be a better and more polished experience than Ravensword: Shadowlands.

Sorry I am so critical of this game, but I have been on an endless hunt for an rpg on ios and nobody seems to get it right.

Criticizing this game easily turns the community on you, which is never any good, but I have to agree with you.
-The price is higher than most games
-The story is incredibly short, as short as ~5 hours and there is not much to do after finishing
-The devs seem to have shifted their attentions to creating Aralon2 instead of polishing RS

    These are what's bugging me

You have some legitimate complaints, but keep in mind this is more of a Zelda RPG than Skyrim. Your expectations are completely out of wack. Moreover, if you like Aralon so much just play it; graphics shouldn't be so important to you if the game is truly that much better than RS.

And I really can't believe that you're complaining about the price. You're so spoiled with games' prices on iOS.

The game has no IAP (on iOS) where some games - even short ones, you could spend literally $100's of dollars. This game is just 6.99, that's it - one time payment.

We're doing Exiles, Aralon 2, various ports of Ravensword, among other things.
We'd still like to get proper iPod 4 support, but its been really tricky.

Hey Josh I know Ravensword is now available for Android... do you guys have the ability to tell how many copies on iOS and Android are played/acquired legitimately versus those that are, well, "stolen"?

I'm curious of the ratios on each each platform...

Speaking of ports, have you guys considered developing a port for the ps vita? I heard that Unity is now supports both the Vita/ps3 and I could imagine this being a perfect fit for a device with two analog sticks.

Just beat the game twice. Here is a summary of the experience.

    The good things:
    - Great soundtrack, fans of Oblivion/Skyrim will like it
    - The 15 hours is actually not an exaggeration. My first playthrough was roughly 13-14 hours. Second playthrough was around 10 hours. Didn't really grind much at all
    - Inclusion of difficulty settings is very nice. I always had to slide difficulty bar down a notch during the fight with the 3 bandits since it was absurdly hard for the beginning of the game, but otherwise left it at approximately 2/3
    - Overall a pretty good attempt to bring a mini-version of Oblivion onto iOS. Of course you can't really expect the entire Oblivion to be on iOS. I'd say this game has about 1/10 of the content of Oblivion

    The bad things:
    - The double-tap-to-run-automatically thing is HIGHLY annoying during fights. If you keep spamming the attack button with a ranged weapon (and you're supposed to) during fights and keep kiting the enemy, it's highly likely it will register as an attempt to run forward, causing you to run directly into a group of mobs and getting yourself killed. Please remove this feature altogether, or at least make it so that double tap on the LEFT side of the screen to auto-run
    - Most weapons in the game are completely useless. These are: axes, hammers, bows, and blunderbuss. The only two weapons you EVER need are the sword and crossbow. Reasons? Your weapon skill improves the more you use it. The final weapon you get, and the most powerful at that, AND you're forced to use during the final boss fight, is a sword, so this means training any other melee weapon is completely pointless. The sword is very fast and does good damage. On the other hand both the axe and hammer are ridiculously slow and only does a tiny bit more damage than the sword, so you end up taking much more hits from these two weapons as enemies can attack you while you're swinging. I cannot see any point in using these two whatsoever. The bow is like the crossbow, except it does LESS damage AND has a much slower firing speed. There is a serious wtf moment here. What is the point of the bow when there is a crossbow? Both has the same attack range, and no, you cannot hold the attack button the charge up the string draw for more damage with the bow - it does the same damage. Crossbow does more damage AND attacks much faster. Blunderbuss is also useless because it has a pathetic attack range (almost melee range), and very low damage - it's basically a shotgun with low damage. You're not going to see instances where enemies pile up in front of you in this game because the population density of enemies is EXTREMELY sparce, so I don't see any advantage of a spread-shot feature.
    - Most skills are completely useless as well. Riding speed? Lockpicking? More gold? These are just some of the completely useless ones that shouldn't even be in this game. First of all you won't spend that much time on your ride so wasting precious points on the travel speed of your horse/hawk/pterodactyl is completely pointless. Second of all there are VERY few instances where you even need to pick any lock. I left my lockpicking skill at the lowest possible (10) and successfully picked every single lock in the game without any effort at all (all you have to do is slide two fingers in a 360-degree motion, I don't even see the point of the lock difficulties?). Third of all in both playthroughs I had way more money than I could spend. You will never run into any financial difficulties unless you're an idiot and buys every single item in shops for collection purposes. Only buy the best available in each shop and you're good to go
    - You cannot go into stealth mode when there are corpses nearby. I think the game engine treats enemy corpses as live enemies. So this is probably a coding misstep
    - Some enemies have ridiculous stats. A rhino creature the size of a mammoth has about 1/4 the health/attack power of a man-sized skeleton. A "carnosaur" (T-rex like enemy) has the same health as a man-sized orc. A "kobalt" enemy (sort of like a goblin thing) which appears mid-late-game is about as easy as the first enemy you come across - the boar. The boss ice giant is exactly the same as a regular ice giant in terms of stats, and even appearance. In fact the first time I didn't even REALIZE I killed the boss ice giant, because I sniped him from far away and no monster name showed on on my screen. Yeah some re-designing is needed here
    - The game world is HUGE, but it's EMPTY. There is absolutely nothing to do outdoors except kill the few enemies sparcely placed and find a few hidden treasure chests. You can't collect plants, you can't craft, you can't eat food (you'll auto-eat once every 20min or so), and there are very little locations to discover. It's just miles and miles of open, open, emptiness slapped on with a land texture
    - There are way too little side quests. I think there are only about 10 side quests in the entire game, most of them have really cliched stories (kill X of Y, collect X of Y, find item X in cave Y, kill person X for me, etc) that are about 2 sentences long that make you go "so let me get this straight, you've been standing in the same spot for who knows how long, why don't you go and do those things yourself?". The NPCs in the game are not engaging whatsoever, you honestly don't give a crap about them. The best example is the central character - the Archmage. All the dude does is sit on a throne 24/7 hoping his knight in white shining armor will come to his doorstep one day, then without further ado send him alone to retrieve 3 gems for him unappreciatively. Unfortunately you can't attack NPCs in this game, otherwise I would've just used the sword on him. There are no dialogue choices either that has lasting impacts, it's just linear dialogues all the way through the game
    - Numerous bugs: enemies clip through terrain, enemies stuck but still has run animation at random places, falling through holes in the ground, flying through noclip areas with an airborne ride and somehow end up inside a mountain, skill tabs not appearing when it's time to upgrade (but appears on later level-ups), item icons in inventory messed up (multiple items stacked together). Nothing game-breaking, but just annoying

Although the "bad" section has way more stuff, none of it is terribly game-breaking. Overall I would call this game a good attempt at bringing open-world RPG onto iOS, but don't expect really deep content, as it's just a glorified JRPG like Zenonia but with 3D graphics and larger world. It's recommended to get this if you're going to go on a long airplane trip. It's guaranteed to last you through the entire ride as it is very addicting.

Any sale coming out? Looks like your losing sales and getting bad reviews. With a bug update could you put the game on sale?

Yea really, ive been stalking this game ever since it came out. I also was reading/viewing the reviews in the app store. They were some that where good and lots that where bad. They would need a sale to get people interested again. Also fix a few things here and there.

I let people play the games before i hit the buy button. I've always done that and will never change.

    So yes really.

I have no problem at all paying full price in support of good developers like Crescent Moon, but it would be good to see some of the things in Cadenza's post addressed; especially (for me) the double tap to run issue and the underpowered bow problem....
