Hey all, We're working on a new Ravensword, with a different style. I've been posting game dev stuff on my twitter account, but here are a few if you'd like to check them out. We're probably looking at end of the year or early next year for release, depending on how it goes. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Are we ever getting helms in aralon F&F? I've been waiting since launch to play because it's just weird playing with no helm visual.
I'll admit it is a bit weird. It was something I wanted too but it never happened. At least I know in Ravensword there will be helms!
Seriously, that's the new Ravensword graphics style? Please don't, this is just plain ugly. A huge step back from earlier games. Go and grab Protopop you know the quality of his work.
Its probably not going to make a whole lot of sense until I post the character in an environment I suppose. We're taking some visual inspiration from games like The Witness, Rime, Sword and Sworcery, and Ashen. Not trying to do a realistic style this time.
Ah well, nothing wrong with doing something different. Just not my cup of tea. Waiting for the next one then And Aralon update sounds good, do you have an ETA already?
I'm in love with good low-poly art. And yours look very promising so far. I'll be watching for new details/screenshots.
I'm disappointed to hear that you guys want to fit the Ravensword franchise into this new look. This look is really great, but Ravensword is supposed to look realistic. This look would make a different RPG really awesome, making a new IP that could be built upon. Not on one that has an established realistic look already. But I'll probably buy it either way. Would have loved to see a little bigger world than RS Shadowlands, but with Protopop crafting the world. But, I'm looking forward to seeing the cool new style develop over this next year. I wish you guys the best in making it!
I love the new look. Seems really fresh. I love the way low-poly stuff looks - really suits the platform. Excited for more!
it will still be the same sort of game. If you look back at Ravensword: The Fallen King and go back in time further, it almost makes sense that this game would have this type of a look. I probably shouldn't have posted such early pictures - its hard to visualize the game from what I've shown. Another reason for doing the game like this is also budgetary. Getting high poly realistic models made is extremely expensive. Premium games just don't make what they used to, years ago. Judging from how AralonFF did we have to be realistic about our expectations. The last Ravensword did really well but it was years and years ago. I'm just glad you all are still excited about the franchise. I think we can do something really cool and unique with this one.
