Off topic - our next board game App: Las Vegas! This might be interesting for some of you. We've already mentioned a new upcoming board game app - here are the news: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=181960 This will sadly not be part of our board game month promotion but be prepared for a VERY NICE launch price ...
Just confirming here that Scotland Yard has hit half price in the NZ store, so the app should be updating worldwide over the next little while.
This looks really neat, but is there any way to disable all the camera motion? I don't think I'll be able to play it without motion sickness.
Very cool to hear Now, is there the chance you'll expand it for the iPhone 5? I would like to know this, too. Please, the movement isn't necessary and I think it will end up being more irritating after the 40th roll. Maybe some people will like it, but please make it optional. PLEASE?
Thanks for this sale, though I've must most of the deals (been away). Grabbed aMAZEing for my kids and going to get Scotland Yard to get a feel for the game before I buy the physical version.
Is aMazeing good for adults? Haven't grabbed it and it looks like it does the row and column shifting thing that 10000000 does...
Are you people primarily playing Scotland Yard in single player? Is single player satisfying? Touch Arcade's reviewer hated the AI at launch.
Yes and yes. Caveat: I have not played the boardgame before and I usually play single player with AI games as my preference. Scotland Yards' installed size is a friendly 75.9MB...
Statement: just started the single player mode last night -- all playing detectives with AI. Observation: I see some time the "Normal AI" behaves a bit odd, but not big a problem. Question: do I win the game even other detective caught Mr. X? Outlook: will try to play Mr. X later.
Best to play with everybody (X and detectives) always set to hard. I frequently play a single detective, letting the AI control the others and X, but on Normal, the AI detectives don't really use a solid process of elimination, and will often make frustrating moves that don't make sense given what you know about X's movements (like deliberately moving away from his current position, when moving one space closer would have pinned him in and won the game). As for winning, yes, you win or lose as a team, but there is an achievement for being the particular detective to catch X.
New App on sale: Whoowasit? We just wanted to let you know that we've now lowered the price of Rainer Knizia's "Whoowasit? HD" for the iPad. Whoowasit? might not be that well known as our classics Labyrinth or Scotland Yard but it's a great game when played together with kids. Simply because it's not a game where everyone plays against each other but all together play against the time to rescue the kingdom. You can even use this app to replace the electronic box of the real board game to enjoy the speech in much better quality. Whoowasit? Now on sale: San Juan As you may all have expected, we have now put San Juan on sale. This sale is combined with the latest iPhone 5 screen update. We've also fixed some annoying connection problems which some people experienced during online games. https://itunes.apple.com/app/id513228980 Youtube Trailer: PS: Keep an eye on Ramses II as it will go on sale over the final march-weekend for a very (did i say VERY?) nice price ...
