I'd actually gift away a lot of apps IF only I could use the iTunes credit for it. Not sure why apple doesnt allow you to use the money from gift cards to gift apps.

Does anyone know what happens when you gift a game/app to somebody that they already own?

PathPix (any of the three in the series, I'd recommend starting with PathPix, or trying the Lite): Essentially, it's a puzzle game where you connect numbered pairs (2 and 2, 5 and 5, etc). The numbers also represent how many spaces these paths will take up: a pair of 8 and 8 will be 8 spaces long. You solve an entire board of these path pairs to form a complete picture, pixel by pixel. It sounds simple, but it's incredibly fun-- in part because the touch screen controls flow smoothly and easily.

    OR

Pet Shop Girl: A match three where you move the rows and columns to form groups of 3, similar in gameplay to Chuzzle. You fill orders for customers in a manner similar to time management games, and you get upgrades and powerups. It's really well made and has several hours of content.

When an app is gifted you generally get a code that you redeem...so you would just have a code that you can't use but which you could give to someone else.

This is kinda off-topic as I'm not competing here, but SkyMuffin deserves the game for mentioning Pathpix. I freakin' love those games.

If you're looking for more, there are a two others games that are similar to it: Piczle Lines (exactly like PathPix) and LinKing (doesnt make pictures, but there is a challenge to get the shortest path).

Thanks all for the recommendations! My contest is over with The Blocks Cometh going to both vbxz47 (for Infinight suggestion) and thethinice (for Chicken Escape puzzler idea) because I can't decide between these. Please PM me your e-mail address for gift.

I remember a study that suggested people will pretend to be generous to make an impression then resort to self-centeredness once their reputation had been made returning to alturism only if that image was questioned.

Maybe, maybe not. I made the name for this thread in about 10 seconds. If I was a mod though, I'd change the name of the thread and group both to Gift an App. It's less about generosity than sharing an app you think is really cool, thus making that study irrelevant. I saw an argument about Phoenix wright, so I decided to gift it to someone, cause I think it's a great game.

    I am hijacking this thread.

I'm looking for a game that is simple and fun (pref not accelerometer-based) and that can be played in 10 minutes or less. I'll gift a $1.99 or 2 $0.99 apps for the one I like the most.

If you into tron, check out the light bike series. If you want fast and hard fun, try league of evil. I also recommend GTA: CTW because most missions can be completed in under 5 mins. Angry birds is pretty good as well. Also, on target, if you're into arcade shooting. I strongly recommend time geeks find all for quick, where's waldo style gameplay. Finally, if you're into beat'em ups, I recommend Aliens Vs. Heroes and Wispin. Oops, I almost forgot cut the rope.
