Nice freebie. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade my device soon so I can play all these newer games I have sitting in iTunes :3 Also sorry for the folks that bought it earlier; ads are a bummer.
Hey All, Yeah, as you know Raid Leader went free with the latest update. We are really exited about this and hopefully it will reach a much bigger audience now which we think it deserves. I just want to add that, yes, the free version now has ads. We tried hard to make it so that earlier customers shouldn't be affected by this, and we hope to keep the 'annoyance' to a minimum. If you have a save game on your device or in iCloud you should not see the ads at all. So even if you have uninstalled the game and reinstall the new version chances are you should see no ads at all (if you had iCloud running that is). We certainly apologize for any inconvenience this is causing, but hope you understand. It's very possible that we can do something about it in an update. Best, Peter
isnt that pretty much the same excuse evertales got when ads started popping up? game didnt sell well, we want to reach a bigger audience...
yeah... I'm kind of worried that Mutant Storm might get ads... Space Tripper didn't sell well... so... hopefully this stops.
Although I didn't pay for this game, think I need to be using iCloud saves for every game that has it enabled...if other devs use the same thing for determining who gets ads, IAPs or whatever. For those people who bought the game, if they weren't using Cloud saves sounds like they'd still be screwed. But again, the big problem with this as well as others is the fact that they didn't mention the addition of ads in the update. To me, whatever the reason, that's just a poor way to trick people into downloading the update.
Plus people who buy the game but haven't played it yet. Yes, I know that sounds silly, but I have a lot of games I buy on release day to support the developer, some of which I don't get around to playing for months. In the case of Raid Leader, I have run it, but I still find this whole situation pretty ridiculous. A separate free version would've looked so much better in the eyes of paying customers.
or kids vs goblins, cant imagine thats doing well with the limited devices it runs on, kinda hesitant to even pick that up when its back on the appstore, sale or not.
Yes, a separate app is almost always the right way to go. But even Dark Meadow screwed the pooch trying to do that (at least they seem to be making an effort to rectify the situation).
yup... didn't even think about that... I'm still in the middle of playing Kv.G... hopefully I'll be able to complete it soon... meh... just not a good feeling about CM games now...
Hi all, We pushed Raid Leader 1.2 update and Raid Leader Free out yesterday. The big feature in this update is the ability to play every boss on multiple difficulty levels. So, if you were stuck on a certain boss you could try and set the difficulty to easy. Likewise, if you've beat the game and want more you can opt in for the hard mode. Hopefully that should give you a bit of a challenge. ;-) This update also removes ads for those few that got them even though they paid for Raid Leader previously. We are really sorry for this. We hoped we could control where the ads appeared, but decided it was better to remove them altogether and make a separate free version of Raid Leader that is ads enabled. Both versions of Raid Leader are now optimized for the new iPad Retina display! Happy Raiding! Best, Peter
Wow. Great to hear you guys fixed the ads thing and just made a different, free version with ads. Much appreciated!
had that since the beginning of the iap fests... I used to buy all their games day one. Now, not so much.
